First off, I'd like to drop a "Hello!" because I've been missing for a while. We got a new computer so I've been "kidnapped" by Azeroth for a couple of weeks as I catch up to an old world that I spent a lot of time in... A LOT OF TIME! lol.

Secondly, I got some new books from a friend on Father's Day so that should kick start my reading again. I got The Witchwood Crown, Kings of the Wyld, Dragon Avenger, and Dragon Outcast. I'm currently bouncing between To Green Angel Tower, Part 1, Before They Are Hanged, Rise of the Necrofauna: A Provocative Look at the Science, Ethics, and Risks of De-Extinction, and Grave Peril.

I'm just catching up at this point since I haven't played in 4 years... The last time I played I had a lot more abilities than my characters have now. I was farming Firelands the last time I played the game.

I've been playing since the original game so I've got 2 Dwarf paladins (85/86), Human Warlock (90 I think), NE Hunter (90) just tamed a spirit beast on her yesterday, 100 Worgen DK, 100 Draeni Shammy, 86 Dwarf Rogue, +others below 80. Then on the Horde side, 100 Tauren DK, 100 Tauren Druid, 110 Goblin Rogue, 87 UD Priest, 70 Orc Warrior, 65 BELF Pally, and then the rest are around 30ish and below. When I quit lvl 90 was the cap and I had a maxed out character of every class except Priest and Mage but I was working on them. Priest was 85 and Mage was 77 (UD and Draeni respectively).

I've been back in WoW for about 2 months myself... I lost my old account last year despite having an authenticator, but I broke down and started fresh... it's a great game to play with audiobooks (as long as you're not doing PVP/Dungeons/Raids, I think, anyway)...

I played mostly in TBC/WotLK/Cataclysm, with a brief check-in in Pandaria and Draenor... this World Quest system is great... needing Pathfinder to unlock flying in Draenor and Legion is annoying tho...

BFA pre-patch is expected to drop July 11th or 18th... they announced a few weeks ago that 32-bit clients will no longer be supported starting July 1st...

Last couple years, my audiobook game of choice has been Path of Exile... a free-to-play diablo-clone that's super fast-paced AoE focused... new leagues with new game mechanics every 3 months... the lackluster Bestiary league, after Abyss league, burned me out quick, and I returned to WoW... and I was too into WoW to bother returning to POE for Incursion league, even tho I've heard nothing but good things about it... and with BFA on the horizon, as long as I'm interested, who knows when I'll return to POE...

You can still farm Firelands... like 900g in 10-15 minutes I think... and some pets... soloing old raids for Battle Pets is a big thing now... every new expansion they add pets to the raids from 2-3 expansions ago... I think Pandaria raids got pets in Legion, so Draenor raids should get pets in 8.1 or 8.2 BFA patch...

The wife and I actually met on WoW. I was levelling my rogue and she was levelling a Hunter. We hit it off and now have been together for 10 years now. Going strong with two kids! ;-)

I had 300-400 days /played on my original account... all classes maxed level in Cataclysm... a few when I returned in Pandaria/Draenor... and access to all maxed professions... these days the game is more about focusing on fewer characters with the rep/tier professions... but I still want solo access to everything, so I have a lot of work ahead of me... I used my 110 boost on a Tauren Druid for gathering, and have a 60 warrior, and low-level DK and Demon Hunter... just started a Warlock since they're so powerful at the moment... best leveling experience I've had since I came back at a terrible time to be leveling characters... the 7.3.5 leveling & old world scaling changes has it's pros & cons...

I've always played Horde... the people that got me into the game in 2007 were Horde, and I just know Horde leveling 100x better than Alliance, at this point...

I liked Healing in TBC (Paladin) and Wotlk (Paladin/Druid)... but I didn't like it as much in Cataclysm+ with the mana changes and loss of specialization... I loved how different being a Pally tank-healer vs a druid raid-HoTs healer was...

I have most of the classes at 110 atm. The only ones left are warrior (I am having a blast leveling this one), rogue and monk.

I only heal with the shaman. I tried the pally but I couldn't get into it. I stoped healing with the priest when they introduced the chakras and I didn't try again it since they took them off.

Too many toons, not enough time. 😉

Yea... I wasted time when I first boosted, re-exploring old content... for the past month, I've been working on Pathfinder, and all that's left is Suramar Loremaster and a bit of the Broken Shore Loremaster... all of my reps are revered or close, thanks to working on ilvl 950 Order Hall followers... I'd be stretched even thinner if I had a ton of max level toons to do that on... even tho I hear it's a money/gold factory... just need to do resource WQs every few weeks, or turn all your Blood of Sargeras into resource tokens to send to alts...

Deciding to change my focus is the hardest part... I can work on Pathfinder, or level alts, or do old raids/dungeons for rep/pets/etc... or farm Ghost Iron Ore and Cataclysm herbs/ore for AH gold (best markets on my realm, as a gatherer)

Woooohoooo, Wow players!

I mainly played during vanilla, TBC and WotLK, then on and off during the other extensions. Haven't played in a year and a half though.

I always played Priest in raids (yup, women -> healer stereotype!), had a blast with all the changes made with the disc specialization, especially in Legion. I've always been somewhat of an "aggressive healer" so it fit me perfectly :) And the skill required to play it finally raised above the "BUBBLES ON EVERYONE" level :p

And I am weird enough that I prefer play human characters than the other races. I know, it’s so weird.

In Vanilla, I played Paladin (Caecil) and Warlock (Kianas). I liked Retribution spec, but it was really bad back then unless you had good gear, so I was forced to be a healer, and actually liked it better! Then 6 months later, BC was released. I raided BC content mostly as a Holy Paladin and I got REALLY good at it. I could heal anyone, didn't matter what your gear was, and I healed a lot of crappy tanks lol. I came VERY CLOSE to getting the bear mount from ZA as a pally healer, but I had a really hard time with the last boss. But near the end/middle I levelled a Rogue (Schiznit), met Eletara (aka Anne, my wife), and started raiding on the rogue. After that I just started levelling characters that I didn't have. I made a lvl 49 Twink Hunter. I used to love killing ?? hordes with her! Watching them nerd rage and leave the area ;-P And after meeting Anne, I would mostly play a tanking class and she's be my personal healer. We'd have 2 computers in our gaming room and just pound out random heroics and raids like nothing and because we were in the same room, we'd clear things fast and efficiently.

Then after about 5-6 years of playing the game I started a couple of horde characters. TBH, it was during Wrath of the Lich King because my first horde toon was a Tauren DK. My Tauren Druid started as Nightelf but paid for a server/faction change the last time that I played. I wanted off of my PvP server (because I'm too old for that sh*t now) and went to a "Normal" server that a best friend's little brother played on, and that's where I play now. Alliance is Burning Blade (PVP) and Stormrage (Normal) and for the Horde (see what I did there? lol) Chromaggus (PvP) and Hyjal (Normal).

I know what you mean Iain about the changes. I used to like the game more when each class had their own style of play. Each healing/tanking class was different. Now they feel the same with different graphics. It's no secret that Paladin was my favorite, I had 4... It was such a busy healer but if done right, I would out heal a druid....Just sayin!

I played a lot in WotLK because I had loooot of free time back then. I've always played with my big bro :)
He was that crazy DPS that would inevitably steal the aggro. I'm not saying that because he's family, but he's one of the best players I've ever seen. He would outDPS any other player even with shitty gear with his mage/rogue/warrior/druid. I met my closest friends in Wow, we were a tiny (but good :p) guild doing 10-people raids. Was so much fun :D

The guy from my usual MT-healer combo was always saying the most filthy jokes RIGHT BEFORE pulling a boss on our private Teamspeak channel. Lost track of how many times we wiped 'cause I was crying of laughter and couldn't see my screen xD

LOL that's awesome. I actually had a friend who played a NE Priest named Travtheelf. And he would heal heroics naked. He'd take his gear off, the tank would freak out and threaten to leave. We'd be like, shut up and tank, you'll see. We did and we always lived. He did it to challenge himself. Best Priest player I ever met.

So there was the tank who realized he had his DPS gear on mid-dungeon, the DPS (my bro) running around with a trail of mobs behind and me, the healer with no gear, dancing in a corner.

Humans are OP... 10% increased rep gains... that always comes up in rep grinding guides... that and a class with mount speed buff or something, like Paladin... every little edge helps...

I played a Troll Hunter for about 1/3 of all my play time... it had over 100 days played, mostly in TBC... I was on a PVP realm, and those were the golden days of world PVP, since people had to farm locations for motes or Spidersilk for crafting... real hotspots for ganking and griefing...

It was near the end of TBC that I leveled my Pally Healer... I tried DK tanking in WotLK... playing a Tank + Healer, especially once Dungeon Finder was released and you no longer had to hawk dungeon parties in general/trade, and you were golden... quick queueing all day long...

Pally healing numbers got pretty crazy once they introduced that 2ndary healing target ability... so you could heal an offtank, or the party/raid, and everything would also hit the main tank...

Have you read about War Mode?... they're getting rid of PVP servers, now everyone is RP or Normal, and you can opt into War Mode which will have an XP/REP buff that increases the more PVP you do (without dying?), and there will be open-world PVP rewards... like chests will be air-dropped and you have to fight to control the chest and open it or something... kind of an extension of all the PVP world questing added in Legion... I did some BGs for Children's Week in May, but otherwise, I've unlocked most of the Honor Talents doing Gilnean PVP objectives on Broken Isles the past month or so... 300 Honor per quest is most of a level early on, and 25-50% of a level later...

In theory... but at the same time, classes are losing a lot of their unique abilities when Artifact Traits and Legion-daries are retired... some people are saying BFA is simplifying classes even more... some classes can't even fill 2 bars anymore... paired with so many things being added to the Global Cooldown...

I did most of my playing in college... 2007-2009... the core of us talked on Ventrilo while playing... creates a great atmosphere... even when just farming... I was never in a serious raiding guild... we accomplished most of our raiding in WotLK when they normalized raids and gave every raid a 10/25-player mode, instead of raid tiers varying in raid size, like in Vanilla/TBC... we raided Karazhan/Magtheridon/Gruul a lot in TBC... we got to try all the raids in WotLK...

My blood elf pally was female...at this point Blizzard is in on the joke that male Blood Elves are too feminine... like them Ungoro quests to save the damsel in distress...
