Liam I'm so sorry. I'm in a similar boat where I'll be losing my job probably at the end of the month. But I knew it was coming and I didn't just have a baby....

Gates of Fire has become one of the two best standalone I've ever read, the other one being Lancelot by Giles Kristian which I just recently read too!
Petrik wrote: "Great job, Miche! Reading YA? My turn to read some YA too! :D"Thank you, Petrik!
I have been reading some dense fantasy books lately, so it was a good moment to switch genres for a bit. I bought these books a long time ago, but I had put them aside when I got tired of ya.
It was a good moment to go back to them. I was very surprised how much I am enjoying the story. Looking back at the first book I would have never imagined that the world building would expand this much.
These books should be labeled new adult instead on ya (there are some sex scenes).
P.S.: don't even attempt to read them. The first book would make you blind of so much eye rolling. π
Thanks Miche and Virginie. There's so much left undone that I wouldn't be surprised if they give me an extra month there. Honestly I wouldn't mind being out of work for a month or two to catch up on all the projects around the house.

I totally understand that. We need a break from dense fantasy books once in a while! That's what I'm doing too currently! :D
As for those YA books, I would prefer to have 10 years of reading slump than being forced to read them again. I give up completely on the genre..
I'm reading Garrison Girl only because it's written by Rachel Aaron, it set in Attack on Titan anime world, and also for my bingo challenge. xD
@TBR Demon: Hahaha! I was surprised when you said you were going to read YA. Didn't think you'd enjoy the genre :pIs Garrison Girl good so far?

This was so good! I am surprised, but I just gave a 5 stars to a Throne of Glass book. :O
Virginie wrote: "@Diana: Oooh. What type of projects, if you don't mind me asking?"Absolutely nothing fun. I need to get some landscaping done, we need a new fence, new windows, recarpet the basement, refinish our wood floors, declutter the house, go through the kids close to get rid of small stuff, etc. Endless list of things that need to get done but never will if I'm still working.

It's okay so far! I'll finish it today and let y'all know what I think about it! :)

I see. Decluttering the house sounds like fun to me but we already established I'm a weirdo lol. The good side of this is that you can always do it while listening to audiobooks ;)

The final book will be coming out this year. The total will be 7 books and 5 novellas. She expanded the world building a lot since the first book (if I am not mistaken it was her first published novel). I really didn't expected much ftom the series, but I was in the perfect mood for it now. :)

Thank you!

Yup! I'm looking forward to that :-)

Life builds around such lists of things to get done, no?
Hope things work out in the best possible manner for you, Diana. Sorry I missed/overlooked you post.
Man, when am I supposed to find time to read? Why is life so hectic right now?Am about a third into Royal Assassin, which I am LOVING! I was aiming for 150 pages a day, but at the rate I am going 50 pages is pushing it... :/
On the plus side went to see Arcade Fire in concert last night and they were A-MA-ZING, so worth giving up an evening of reading for...
Sorry I am being a bit of a rubbish teammate. Too much fluff, not enough substance ;)
Woohoo, Arcade Fire! I'm jealous :pLola wrote: "Too much fluff, not enough substance ;)"
Bwahahaha ;)
There's no such thing as rubbish teammates! Only mighty Fluffers :p
Oh, there's def dirty implications in anything I say about fluffers...Not my fault! I blame my work! In a construction company, dirty jokes are just greetings :p
Awww, thanks for the support guys! And Petrik, you know what they say.... A dirty mind is a joy forever!
@Petrik: If that makes you feel better, my first thought when I saw our new thread name was: "We fluff? As in pornography fluffers? Is that ironic? 'Cause our ranking is not going up..."
Hahahahah i love this kind of talk! Good to know I'm in good company xDWell, we fluffers should do a better job in making sure that our performance keeps on rising
Petrik wrote: "Hahahahah i love this kind of talk! Good to know I'm in good company xDWell, we fluffers should do a better job in making sure that our performance keeps on rising"
Indeed! Let's all work hard to keep
