I mean, I should be working... but instead I created an instagram just for goodreads pics and then photoshopped us a tshirt (but still can't get my embedded links to work). I don't deserve my job.https://www.instagram.com/p/Bjfv_WgnI...

The one where the herb garden was posted from. That's the real one I regularly post from. I'll stalk you back :-)

I can't figure out how to do it without uploading them to my blog first. it's a bit infuriating. lol

Loved it!
@Miche & Aristea: I'm 25% into Circe and let me just say, looking at moving clouds is better than reading this book. I really should've known this was going to be one of those super overhyped book for me. So yeah.. will not continue or put it on GR. xD

Hahaha, I was a bit surprised you wanted to read that one, to tell the truth. I didn't think it would be your style. Seems my guess was right, lol.
Having said that, the book gets much better after she moves out of Helios' castle. But I still don't think you would like it. :)
Celeste said the same thing, guess y'all know my taste xD I'm a huge fan of Greek myth and as far as myth goes in the book, the book did it well so far. But, it's seriously impossible for me to connect with Circe, Siri seems to have more emotion than her... Welll, time to go read another book! :D

I love that T-Shirt :p
@Petrik: Will you *just* read the Malazan Book of the Fallen or go through the entire 'Ultimate reading order' the group is buddy-reading right now?
Virginie wrote: "@Petrik: Will you *just* read the Malazan Book of the Fallen or go through the entire 'Ultimate reading order' the group is buddy-reading right now?"I'll try the ultimate reading order (without all the novella) but i'll have to see how the books goes first. I heard Malazan Empire is super bad xD
Petrik wrote: "I'll try the ultimate reading order (without all the novella) but i'll have to see how the books goes first. So far I read 3 Novels from the Malazan Empire and I rated all 3 stars. For sure I won't reread them.

Ah okay! Duly noted! I'll just come into them with low expectation :D
@Lena: I modified a little bit your spreadsheet so it's easier for me to update. I hope you don't mind EDIT: I'm just hiding rows to avoid scrolling like a madwoman. So many entries... You read too fast! ;)
Petrik wrote: "Ah okay! Duly noted! I'll just come into them with low expectation."
Good plan. Even if they aren't as good as Erikson's books, they expand the story and will give you further understanding of some great characters we met at the Book of The Fallen.
Petrik wrote: "I'll try the ultimate reading..."
The problem with the Empire books is that Erikson didn't write them. They aren't awful but when compared to BotF they fall flat. They do add a lot to BotF however. Introducing character, continuing their storyline after they've left the plot of the main series, filling in little details.........
Path to Ascendancy which is a prequel series to both Empire and BotF is written by Esslemont and is terrific. He gets better each book. Even though it's a prequel don't read it first. I will ruin some huge moments in the main series.

@Miche & Scott:Yeah, that's what I heard too. I even heard from some of my friends that ICE Path to Ascendancy is up there with BotF (two person even think it's better!) so I'll definitely keep that in mind when I get around to his work, which should be soon. Let's just hope that after the gazillion amount of praises and fanaticism , Malazan doesn't backfire on me xD I already got spoiled because these fanatic can;t shut the fuck up.
Major spoiler for Malazan, do not click for those who haven't read it (view spoiler)
Oh no, Petrik! :( I still scroll without reading any post about the Malazan books I didn't read. I also make sure to not "like" any post or review with spoilers so they don't appear at my friends' feeds.
Lena wrote: "Trust you! I hope I didn’t just mess it up. I peaked but then couldn’t find the little arrow again."No you didn't ;)
To show hidden rows, you just have to click on the little arrow.
To hide rows, you have to select 'em (by clicking on the row number) then right clic -> Hide rows

Noted! I was wondering if those books really added to the Malazan experience. I'll go through the ultimate reading order then (when I finally take the plunge).

It's just fucking annoying. They're not doing the world any favor by screaming those spoilers. I scroll very quickly every time anything Malazan related appears on my feeds. :/
I don't blame you. Don't look for art either. They are awesome but the internet is full of spoilers. 😉

That blows about the spoilers.
Path to Ascendancy isn't better than BotF. ICE just isn't the author SE is. However he has come a long way and after reading 16 books from the two series which is something like 5 million words you get the backdrop to a lot of epic characters. It, to be honest, would be a miracle if he F'd it up badly.

Sorry I have been a bit AWOL. Life and all that :)We threw our annex onto Airbnb recently and we had bookings straight away, which meant we had to suddenly get everything in order! We managed and we had our first guests come to stay this weekend :)
Just realized I never posted those stats so...Lena's tally for May: 29 books (7278 pages) = 89.5 points
Title: The FoxAuthor: Sherwood Smith
Pages: 691
Buddy Read: Yes
Challenge: Yes (Incomplete Series)
Total points: 12.2
Really good book. This book expanded the series much more than I thought it would. I am looking forward to book 3.
Hey Lola, you don't have to apologize but I'm glad you're back :DThat's awesome! Is your annex independent (i.e. kitchen and all that)?
