I got home and started cooking so too tired now to try to find/unpack the bridge 4 stitch. Plus it's not 100% done yet. Will post it when I can finish it.

Title: StonewielderAuthor: Ian C. Esslemont
Pages: 634
Buddy Read: Yes
Challenge: Yes (Incomplete Series)
Total points: 11.1
It took me almost a month and a mini-slump, but I finally finished it! While the story was interesting, it suffered from pacing issues.
I don't think I will finish another book tomorrow, so the tally for May:
9 books, 4202 pages, 63.1 points.
Niki Hawkes wrote: "Haha that's not a bad problem to have. ;)The sketching pic would be gorgeous. And it seems like it would be fun to do with interesting color schemes.

I only ever finished one project and I gave it as a gift. I had one on the go, but I put it aside before moving and I have to say I don't have a clue where it is, lol.
Lately I was trying to learn how to sew, knitting and crochet.
I seem to always start a project but then jump to something else.
I might go back to the cross stitch though. I have to find in which box I put the threads and the canvas, lol. I will look for them this weekend. :)
Niki Hawkes wrote: "Lena's choices & the poll: https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...:) Thanks for getting those to me so fast!"
Great choices, Lena! Imajica was on my list potential nominations in case I was chosen :)
Niki Hawkes wrote: "I don't take your efforts for granted, hope you know. :) If you ever get sick of doing any of the things, please let me know. I appreciate it soooo much!"Thanks, Cap' :D
I'm won't say I'll keep doing this forever 'cause... Well, you never know, I might get sick of it but so far, I'm actually enjoying entering your reads in the spreadsheet:
- it helps you guys carve more time for actual reading (go team, go!)
- I can follow all your reads and add to my TBR like a maniac
- it gives me the impression of earning more points that I actually do haha
So really, it's a win-win situation ;)
Niki Hawkes wrote: "I just added some of my points. I was only 4 books behind, but they all added up to 27 points. :)"Great job :D

Heh, you finished it in time to add it to your May tally! Well done, Miche :)
Updating my stats. I was able to squeeze in an extra book today.New May stats: 13 books, 5,978 pages, 105.3 points
My stats for May (with a book I'm going to finish today):
13 books
4232 pages
65.10 points
:)
I think that's more books than normal but the same points and pages ish. Novellas.

I used to do that until I finally finished my first project. Seeing it hanging up is super motivating.
The only think I know how to knit are scarves - and they're totally straight lol. I'd love to learn how to crochet little critters, kind of like Anni did with her hippos on the member's creations thread. I want to make little dragons. :)

Completely off-topic: we broke over 2000 comments in this thread! We're winning the "who's the most chatty?" competition :p
@Miche, Diana & Niki: I find it amazing that you three are doing cross-stitching. I never tried it, but I'm fairly certain I'm not patient enough for this kind of activity! What other cool hobbies do you guys have? :D

It's such a "tidy" hobby, it really helps me when I'm feeling anxious and stressed (until the thread gets knotted lol). I don't think you could come up with a hobby more suited to my passions. And the colors! It's so much fun to see the colors start to sprawl across the fabric. But yes, I'm sure some would find it tedious and it does take a fair bit of patience haha.
I feel like I've dabbled in a bunch of things, but the ones I keep coming back to are knitting scarves and hats (which I might start selling at our local farmer's market), colored pencil art, and bullet journaling. :)

I knit, loom (nicer knitting), and you guys are making me want to try embroidery/cross stitch! I also train my dogs, nothing specialized, but when my German Shepherd goes through her paces at doggy runs everyone is suitably impressed and I’m quite proud.

Looming would be fun! I use a little one for hats but it would be cool to try some of the others.
Dog training!! That's awesome. I have a miniature Australian shepherd and always think it would be fun to start working with her.

It can be a lot of fun if you keep it to just five minutes a few days a week. They feel special about the focused attention and treats. You feel like a great pet parent.

You def need patience. Once pic I did took me 10 years. And now I can't find it :'-(
I garden in the summer. And I volunteer at an animal shelter. And I read. I think that's it.

We did some work with her when she was a pup and you're right about the good feelings all around. Thanks for motivation!

aaaahhh!!!! NOOOOO! That's sad.
I go in waves with xstitch. I'm so sporadic. I finish 1/4 of the thing in a few weeks, then don't touch it again for months. If I spend like 5 min a day I bet I could have that new one done in a year. But I wont lol.
What kinds of things do you garden? :)

This year I planted tomatoes, cherry tomatoes, 3 kinds of bell pepper, eggplant, radishes, onions, zucchini, cucumber, string beans, pumpkin, spaghetti squash, butternut squash, broccoli, and brussel sprouts in the main garden. And in the herb garden I have rosemary, basil, oregano, thyme, sage, mint, and chives (mint is actually in a pot off to the side cuz it takes over everything so I keep it not in ground). My husband built me an herb garden from scratch last year and I love it to pieces.

PS- Your frogs are awesome.
Lena wrote: "That is so pretty! What a handy husband."Thanks. That's why I married him :-)
Can I also add dog training to my hobbies? I used to train for my old shelter. It was actually on my list of career choices when I was thinking about switching fields (which sadly never happened). But I don't think I could deal with the owners not following my advice. Training shelter dogs is better cuz there are no owners to argue with you. :-)

That is so cool!! I have ambition to start a garden soon, but first we need to install some grass lol (new house, unfinished back yard). You're your own farmer's market!
PS thanks :)

That is also really neat. I'm sure all of those poor puppies appreciate the attention. I'm sure your efforts directly translate into dogs that are able to integrate into a new home so there are fewer "returns." Way cool. :)

I used to garden with my mom growing up and I loved it. Such a rewarding process, and we always got more veggies than we could handle. It made me love eating vegetables actually, because no matter how gross I wanted to eat what I grew haha. That's a lovely herb garden Diana!

But he does love to help :-)
And thank you. I was really impressed that he did that for me. One day he saw a picture of the herb garden on a diy website and said "Would you like me to build one for you?" And I was like "Hell yeah!"
Virginie wrote: "Completely off-topic: we broke over 2000 comments in this thread! We're winning the "who's the most chatty?" competition :p"Awesome! I <3 this team. :)
@Niki, amazing job with the frogs! I also knit mostly easy stuff, like scarves and baby blankets, lol. I have 3 projects on the go. :)@Diana, that is a lovely herb garden!
Most of my hobbies are related to art and crafts, travels, books. I am often trying new things (sketching, sewing, etc) even if I have no talent for some of these. I.e.: I am an awful dancer and my latest hobby includes tap dancing.I also like gaming (boards, cards, video games).
Lena wrote: "I don’t think people liked my August Choices, pun lol, only five people have voted (including me)."Great choices, Lena. So far the three books I got interested into have votes on.
