Lena Finished Nightmare Magazine, Issue 68 (May 2018) by Nightmare Magazine 3 Stars

message 1663: by Virginie (new)

Great job otherwise! That cover is creepy :o

Lena Finished Clarkesworld Magazine, Issue 140 (Clarkesworld Magazine, #140) by Neil Clarke 4 Stars

I should have at least a word count available by the end of the month on Nightmare Magazine.

message 1665: by Virginie (new)

Virginie | 6129 comments @Lena: Nevermind, I looked at previous issues of the magazines and averaged the page counts. Your scoresheet is up to date :)
I'm curious though... Where do you find those magazines? Digital editions?

We actually haven't discussed magazines yet. I'm not sure if they count and what value they're given. I'll ask today.

message 1668: by Lena (last edited May 16, 2018 07:56AM) (new)

Lena I think of them as Anthologies. Literary magazines are short story, poetry, novella, and non fiction collections. They’re wonderful! I think if you just throw out the word "magazine" people will think of People or one of the many celebrity rags read while waiting at the checkout.

I'm inclined to count these as an anthology. You're right there is a huge difference. We'll include it in the rules next year. I don't know that they'll count full points, but I'll remember to add them.

I kept forgetting to update my spreadsheet over the last two weeks, and meanwhile I finished a crap-ton of books. Added 49 points. ^_^.

Woohoo! Nice!

As I'm going through my challenges, I've noticed that I'm running out of easy challenge space. Soon I'm not going to be able to use those points :'-(

You can do what some did and just create a cover challenge - phase two and add a bunch of new categories lol.

lmao, it's only cheating if you add the categories as you go. ;) Like, hey, I just finished all systems red - that fills my new "robot" category haha.

message 1680: by Virginie (new)

The most popular edition on goodreads has 560 pages. Quite a difference. But lucky you since the rules are to go by most popular edition ;-)

Is this potential typo meant for me? Even if not, Virginie is absolutely the cutest. :-)

And good on ya 4 yous batch update. I'm still reading DG 😂 + nagging The Cutest to start the series. Is all still counting as karma in the Malaz universe.
