Yay! One more to the fanclub!

I already preordered Dark Age.

P.S.: I find the cover for Iron Gold gorgeous, so I was a bit sad they didn't keep the same aesthetic.

Hahahaha I love white background! I thought the new trilogy would be all white and the old trilogy all black, that would be cool. This snakes on gold cover look like a bunch of literal shits in a sea of pee

Kris | 343 comments I just need to come to this thread to be cheered up. I am the weird woman not continuing the Red Rising series, but yep that cover is so meh. It's not ugly, but it looks like a medical dictionary or something... (maybe about bowel movements?)

message 1615: by Lena (new)

Lena With this much feedback they’ll fix it for the paperback.

Hahaha i'm so sorry, Niki!! I think it was my expectation to blame too. I haven't read the rest of Raven's Shadow (which I heard fail miserably) so my expectation for this one is still quite high. It's a good trilogy but I failed to connect with the majority of the characters. The last book should be better for you than it was for me! :D

It's okay haha. I'm sure me geeking out about it for over a year didn't help matters at all. I'm hoping I like the last one as much as the previous two. If I do it will end up on my favorites list.

I'm going against the grain, but I wasn't in love. Good setup, but I was hoping for more than just setup.

Zaara | 4273 comments I felt the same about Malice, Diana. There was some awful clunky writing in there too...in patches....

message 1626: by Petrik (new)

Petrik (petrikleo) | 1546 comments Don't give up! Give the second book a try and that one still doesn't grab you, then feel free to give up the series. That's my advice! :)

Yeah, it should be! One of my close friend gave the first book a 2 or 3 stars because she felt it was clunky and too much of a setup book. Starting from the second book until the last though it immediately shot up to her favorite series of all time. So yeah, give the second book a go first and I hope it will work ou t better for you! :)

Miche | 3279 comments The writing in Malice started a bit clunky for me too, due to his use of short sentences. I felt it got better by the end, or maybe I got used to it. :)
