Bahahahha my brain can only handle one more giant series for this year. That means if I start WoT, I'm going to have postpone Malazan again and I don't know how I feel about that.

From the three books I read so far this one was the best. (view spoiler)

I'm so glad. I was internally b!tching that by the time I get to this series everyone will already have finished it and moved on to new things....
You know how we were saying we both need a new THING for #aftertheLawrence?

EDIT to add:
Go, Miche! But I think I already meant that in comment #1263 😂😂😂

I was supposed to be on that buddy read but after finishing the second book I realized that I just don't care about any of the characters. They could all die and I wouldn't care.

There are a couple of new characters, but I don't think you would connect to any this point if you didn't care about all others before.

The first book took me a long time to grab my interest and I almost gave up of the series. I am happy I didn't as the second and third books were page turners for me. I read both in two days!

This was the first book I read by him and it blew me away. I really loved it. I'm not saying it's the best writing around, but the story hooked me for the start.

I think you'll love his Riyria series. It's very popular and the last book was so good. The beginning was weak af though, no idea why people loved it

I noticed it a week ago or so. And then, you read White Sand #2 (worth 0.4 points) and ended up above me by 0.1 points. I remember thinking "Is he doing it on purpose?!?" xD

Yeah, I'm just not feeling the motivation. It's nothing against the writing, which is fine. I'm just not invested in the characters.

Hey Virginie! I just bought that book, is it ok to start there or should I read the previous series?

message 1299: by Virginie (new)

Virginie | 6129 comments You can totally start here. You don't have to have any knowledge from his other series.
I'd advise to start with Age of Myth actually... Sullivan improved a great deal, the pace is much better compared to Riyria. But Legends of the First Empire is not completed yet (4 more books being published this year and the next).

I'm reading that one right now. I thought the departure from a purely Darrow POV would annoy me but so far I'm liking it. Of course, I still want more Darrow.
