Adding "Best of" lists for more years

Hello, I'm very new to this group. On Listopia, there are lists for the best books of individual years, from 1980 to 2017. The list knows which books were and were not published in a given year, and only allows you to post books that were published that year. There are "Best of" lists for earlier years, but they aren't smart, and you could put whatever books you wanted on them. I was wondering if we could create "smart" lists for the years 1979 and before?

I do wonder if the list needs to be created by a Super-librarian or Staff to be able to do that. As far as I know there is no way we can do that and I did not find info in the manual or the help pages. I would be curious to know though.
