GRADE LEVEL:
Kindergaden – 3rd grade

INTRODUCTION:
The teacher will ask the students how the would describe different sounds. Such as a door closing, or a cow mooing. The students would then be asked to spell a sound.
EXAMPLES:
The teacher will have the students listen to different sounds then show them the written word for that sound. Such as bamb, click, meow, and others.
PROVIDE INFORMATION:
Click, Clack is the sound of a type writer. Moo is the sound that a cow makes.
The teacher will explain that sounds and be described with written words.
SUPERVISED PRACTICE:
The teacher will ask “What Sound does_____ make?” then the students will hold up the word card for that sound. The teacher will repeat this procedure twice before releasing the students to their activity.

ASSESSMENT:
The students will travel around the room to different stations and match the object or animal with the sound that they make.
