Helen The Melon | 3432 comments Yeh, the original Miserylab version is much better.
I read somewhere (can't remember where) that Porl thought the Miserylab tracks didn't get known to a wide enough audience so he decided to re-work them using the Rosetta Stone name. Also, it's a bit strange to release the final track of the album as a preview/taster.

I was looking forward to the new album but now...........
Hmmmph, we don't want half baked rosetta stone, we want full on, old school '90s sounding Rosetta Stone!!

Definitely not a bad thing. Always good to see people having fun with their music and if they do take themselves too seriously, well, I usually find that amusing too! ;-)

Hmmm, the music sounds "brighter" than their previous releases? Fortunately the vocals are much the same, echoey, doomy Turkish!

Helen The Melon | 3432 comments Night Sins are back with a new album soon, Portrait In Silver, but appear to have changed their sound. The highly derivative, and amusing, goth rock has been replaced with industrial tinged synth-pop à la Depeche Mode:-

Both good songs, as was Creux Lies's 'Made'. I'd like to offer up some new songs but my recommendations from Bandcamp/Allmusic have recently been a bit crap.

Well I've listened to a heck of a lot of dodgy goth music from this year, next time I come across any I'll post it on here.

That's ok, I'm sure I look silly most of the time anyway.

Lez, you'll be horrified to know that at 1.30am the other night I started to hear a strange faint noise in my bedroom while I was trying to get to sleep. Eventually I switched the light on only to discover a giant, demented moth going bananas around the room. It was zooming around everywhere bumping off the ceiling, walls & furniture. Took me ages to try & catch it & it even went up my pyjama leg twice!

"The italian renaissance of the darkest and most powerful Death Rock in the vein of early Christian Death/Mephisto Walz, acidic and epic guitars, cavernous bass, powerful insane vocals and true amphetamine drums. A must of Gothic movement!"

Oh dear Lord! Actually preferred the MOTH song, (I clicked on Mourning Dew).

TheFoe | 2646 comments George Eldritch, possibly the funniest thing I've seen all year! :-)

On a Sisters Of Mercy note, this is the album that never got released. Don't get too excited though, as Discogs now explain, "In order to escape his contract with WEA/East West records for two remaining Sisters albums Andrew Eldritch reputedly spent an afternoon mumbling into a microphone to record what he calls an album that "bears no resemblance to any quality product, let alone the Sisters". For a total of two days work over "reject material of some amateur acquaintances" we have an album of "rather bad sub-techno" that dwells almost exclusively on the glorification of shooting people and selling drugs to schoolchildren. It is rumoured that the full name of the band (SSV-NSMABAAOTWMODAACOTIATW) apparently stands for "Screw Shareholder Value - not so much a band as another opportunity to waste money on drugs and ammunition, courtesy of the idiots at Time Warner".

The album has never been published, but has been available on the net for years.

Not the worst thing I've ever heard, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LU7Ar... not great though.

😁 Yeh, I'm finding it gets funnier the more I watch it, especially from the 40 second (approx) "sing" point.

Will try listen to that S of M "album" on YouTube over the weekend.

Lez | 7490 comments Helen, I saw this joke on 'Talk Classical' and thought of you:

Guy comes into the doctor's. The doc says, "What seems to be the problem?"
The guy says, "Doctor, I think I'm a moth!"
Doc says, "Sorry there's nothing I can do for you. I'll need to send you to the psychiatrist"
The guy says, "Oh, I was on my way there but I saw your light was on."
