TheFoe | 2646 comments Started listening to this song, The TRAITRS one, whilst watching Spurs getting beaten 0.1 by Chelsea, it was 0.2 before the song finished. The only reason I stopped listening to Sky's commentary in the first place was having to endure the annoying voice of Gary Neville, can't stand him!

Good song though! :-)

I would have thought that the best way to watch the football was always with the commentary/sound switched off and music playing instead. ;-)

Helen The Melon | 3432 comments Anyway, there's a new compilation set of Mission singles being released on the 22nd Oct: The Mission Collected

" ‘This is a release I never thought would happen. A collection of all the Mission singles from 1986 bang up to now, from Serpent’s Kiss to Tyranny Of Secrets’, Wayne writes in his foreword for the brand new compilation The Mission Collected.

But that is exactly what The Mission Collected is: a brand new full career overview, spanning the full 35-year recording history of the band. Released by Universal Music and Music On Vinyl/Music On CD and overseen by Wayne himself, The Mission Collected features all of the band’s singles in their original single versions, some which were previously only available as promotional singles, plus some band- and fan favorites.

The 3CD set features 38 classic The Mission tracks on CD1 and CD2, plus an additional 10 often long forgotten 12” remixes on CD3, including the never before on CD released extended version of Stay With Me.

The 3LP is a limited edition of 2000 individual numbered copies featuring 26 tracks on LP1 and LP2. LP3 is the bonus disc and features 6 12” remixes.
Once this 3LP goes out of print, it will become a 2LP set around May 2022.

Both the CD and LP formats feature extensive liner notes, photos and a foreword by Wayne, written especially for this release."

Sera69 | 1933 comments That's not a bad wee collection there. Later Mish is under appreciated. It's mostly all as Mish as Mish can be, which means it's pish if you're not on the Hussey train, but all good after a bottle of blue nun. Disc 3 is superfluous.

Can't decide whether to bother with it, or not. I used to have all Mish stuff up to & including Masque. Got rid of most of it years ago. Only have The First Chapter & Gods now, I think.

It's just on my wishlist at the mo and I'll have to give it a good old fashioned streaming before deciding whether to purchase - had lots of outgoings recently: my sister's b'day, several things going wrong around the house and now starting to think about Xmas stuff, grrr. TheFoe | 2646 comments Hi Helen, I've found a music site called Tastebuds that allows you to chat to like minded people based on your musical preferences. Anyway, on it is a list of recent conversations under the banner Soapbox. There are 2 that I post on, one is called '1 song per year, 1970 to present', you basically post a song from 1970 to 2021 using a youtube link. So at the moment it's on 1997, (I just posted a song), then the next person posts a song from 1998. You keep going until it goes to 2021, then start again at 1970.

The other thread I post on is 'The Goth Thread', people just post videos from youtube. Worth a look for you I reckon as I know you like a lot of the bands that are on there. :-)

https://tastebuds.fm/topics/5416-the-...

Edit - in case you're wondering why I don't post them on this thread, it's because I think you've alreay heard the ones that I've posted, I've only been a member for about a week.

Hello old bean. Thanks for thinking of me, I've not heard of it before. I'll take a proper look at it when I have more time, hopefully over the weekend. However, a quick search around seems to suggest that it's a dating site?

message 1069: by TheFoe (new)

TheFoe | 2646 comments Not really, you can use it for that but it asks you what you want to use the site for; people to go to gigs with who live locally, friendship, dating, or just inane chatter.

Helen The Melon | 3432 comments New Bauhaus single "Drink The New Wine" - https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=aqF_WOZ...

Blurb: "Drink The New Wine was recorded last year during lockdown with the four members sharing audio files. The track employs the Surrealists’ ‘Exquisite Corpse’ device whereby each artist adds to the piece without seeing what the others have done. Bauhaus have used this technique in the past to great effect. The title refers to the very first Cadavre exquis’ drawing rendered by André Breton, Marcel Duchamp, Jacques Prévert and Yves Tanguy which included words which when strung together made up the sentence, ‘Le cadavre exquis boiara le vin nouveau’ (‘The exquisite corpse will drink the new wine.”) For the recording, the four musicians each had one minute and eight tracks at their disposal plus a shared sixty seconds plus four tracks for a composite at the end. All done without hearing what the others had laid down. The only common link being a prerecorded beat courtesy of Kevin. The final playback came as synchronistic revelation."

Hi Helen, yeah I'm still in Blandford, (moved 2 roads away from my previous house). Bought 2 Sisters Of Mercy earrings from Etsy, (what a crap site that is), they were a lot bigger than I thought they would be and you can't see the outline of the face. What I'm left with is oversized earrings that just show a star, not a keeper. :-(

message 1086: by Helen The Melon (last edited Apr 01, 2022 07:51AM) (new)

Helen The Melon | 3432 comments Glad you managed to stay in Blandford. Hope you're getting the house sorted by now.

Sorry your not happy with your earrings. I don't use Etsy much but have found it ok and the products good apart from once - bought a bracelet for my Mum but it was humongous and looked like a child had made it. The people/person that made it was donating all profit to charity so I didn't mind so much. When I have time & wherewithal I will try & alter it myself.

Nice one, Foe. I wasn't aware that it had FINALLY been released. It was announced so long ago (will check when in a minute - edit: announced Sept 2019 for release end 2019/start 2020. Ha!
