Helen The Melon | 3432 comments Some silliness:-

Goth Hides Stack of The Cure’s “Pornography” in Woods

Middle-aged goth Richard Irwin stashed his collection of The Cure’s landmark fourth album “Pornography” in the woods behind his house yesterday to keep his family from finding the large amounts of vinyl, excited neighborhood teens report.

“Look, I have kids now, and I just don’t want to risk scarring them at such a young age. ‘Pornography’ is a serious album, and you don’t just jump from the Wiggles to the Cure without serious ramifications,” explained Irwin, who promised his wife he’d no longer bring such depraved material into the house. “So I went deep into a forest and found a perfect place to stuff this waterproof bag with all the various editions I own. And if I’m feeling randy, I’ll take this battery-powered turntable into the woods, bite my lip, and revel in miserable ecstasy while applying some light mascara.”

Reports indicate local horny teenagers found the salacious stash very quickly.

“Let’s just say that I found a very interesting pile of stuff the other day, if you know what I mean,” hinted local 7th grader Skyler Anderson, showing the first signs of an incoming thin mustache. “I’ve been turning a nice little profit by sharing it with my schoolmates who haven’t experienced anything this hardcore before. They never know what to do with themselves, especially once ‘The Hanging Garden’ starts. But if anyone asks, you didn’t hear about it from me. My mom would kill me.”

The Cure’s frontman Robert Smith weighed in, recommending care be taken to not expose it to children.

“‘Pornography’ should only be enjoyed by those mentally fit enough to withstand the titillating and supremely depressing subject matter contained within,” said Smith, who has started sharing stories of each track from the album on OnlyFans. “Maybe ease your children into it by playing ‘Friday I’m In Love’ in the car, or adding ‘Kiss Me Kiss Me Kiss Me’ to their Spotify library. Before you know it, they’ll be addicted to ‘Pornography’ and maybe start a tribute band to perform ‘Pornography’ themselves.”

Irwin’s secret stash has reportedly grown significantly in the last day, adding Extreme’s “Pornograffiti,” Big Black’s “Songs About Fucking,” and Dave Matthews Band’s “Crash.”

Yeh, I thought it was amusing too, Suzy.

Btw. it's v quiet here on the spider front. Just one six legged little one lurking around my staircase that I see now & again. I think they're all still hibernating - we have had quite a bit of snow recently: it was white all over yesterday morning & this morning. And it's still dropping below freezing at night.

suzysunshine7 | 16062 comments I came across Mitzi completely fascinated and very slowly creep-crawling behind a HUGE black hairy Spider purposely making it's way across the Landing a couple of weeks ago - until it suddenly turned around, decided to face her head on, and actually rear up at her!

She immediately squealed and panicked and started speedily backing up while it came at her ... until she was backed right into a Corner and then started wailing at me to come and save her!

I had to throw one of her fleecy Bed Blankets over it just to keep it still while Mum rushed off downstairs to fetch a Glass for me to catch it up with - LOL!!! ;o>

Hi Suzy, I have been listening to that recently too. I haven't been getting any Insp Gadget vibes from it though! Here's what I said over on the other thread: -
"New album of 10 original songs + 10 cover versions. The original songs are their usual gentle loveliness but I don't care much for the cover versions. Definitely an album of two halves :-( "

Also, your YouTube link doesn't seem to be for the full album? It's here on B'camp - https://deinelakaien.bandcamp.com/alb...

message 972: by suzysunshine7 (new)

suzysunshine7 | 16062 comments Thanks for the Link, Helen ... x

I hadn't noticed it wasn't the full Album so I'll check out Bandcamp.

Maybe it's just me? - or just me at the moment? - but it seems to be ever-so-slightly lacking in a little something extra for me ... which is why I've kept listening to it to see if I can work out why it doesn't quite go all the way and hit the right spot inside this time around?

So it's only just me then who keeps getting bizarrely distracted into ... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EcF2L... ... on Song of the Flea? ... HA HA HA HA HA!!!

It's funny because I've barely ever watched 'Inspector Gadget' and so I don't know why on Earth my Mind keeps on with insisting on taking me there - LOL!!! ;o>

I don't think it's just you. I found it enjoyable enough & gently lovely but kind of average at the same time. I could have done without the second half of the album altogether - the cover versions.

A: We've noticed that too, Bob."

Edit: It also suggests that if you want further help you shouldn't bother contacting him but should "put your problems, questions and career advice in a really long email and send it to Mozzer" and helpfully provides the email address: mozzer@brickiewithaquiff.co.uk

You will not be surprised to hear that I'm not too keen on the vocals. I do like the music though.
Same goes for the new single, "No Sense", from Blankenberge (Russian shoegaze/dream pop) - lovely shimmery music, vocals a bit wafty :-(
