Ouch! That hurts.

Nice one Helen. :-) I've got Stranger and 7th time on their self titled, and very good, Clan Of Xymox album, and Muscoviet Mosquito from 4AD's flawless and worth checking out compilation album 'Lonely Is An Eyesore'. Not familiar with the other 3 songs but giving them a listen as I type.

message 857: by Helen The Melon (new)

Helen The Melon | 3432 comments The Peel Session is a good one. Not heard of that 4AD comp before. Had a quick look/listen & I think Muscovite M might be the best thing on it for me.

Helen The Melon | 3432 comments Happy Sisters of Mercy Day.

Today (16th) is usually considered their Anniversary date - the date of their first official gig - 16th Feb 1981 - as support act with the Thompson Twins (urgh). The Sisters' performance was at least partly recorded and some of it can be found on a bootleg. This has the earliest live recording known of "Good Things" taken from this first ever concert: -

I'm often up on and off all night long so I may catch it ... thanks Helen ;o>

I'll just have to see if I can get the Sky Arts Channel on my TV first. I know that I did have Channel 11 on Freeview until very recently - although I remember that it was previously allocated to something else and not Sky Arts.

It's one of the Channels though that disappeared from my TV after the major re-shuffle sometime in mid-January followed on by the addition of several new Channels.

I'll try doing another update and see if my Aerial can pick it up ;o>

suzysunshine7 | 16062 comments I don't want to detract too much from the Music on this Thread but I thought you might be interested to know that I've currently got two tiny little black Spiders sharing my Bedroom with me ;o>

They look identical so I reckon they must be from the same Nursery Web and happened to head in the same direction as each other on leaving it ... probably positioned somewhere on the Wall or the Sill just outside of my Window.

I've had a long talk with both of them and told them that they can stay ... so long as they don't grow much bigger and they stay well away from my Bed! ;o>

Helen The Melon | 3432 comments That's ok Suzy.

It has been quite quiet here on the spider front - just 4 sightings of the same spider since the New Year. It's a cute little stripey spider that I only see in various wall & ceiling locations in my kitchen. I had a nice little chat with him at lunchtime today, actually, but he didn't talk back. I call him "Little Spider" (imaginative eh?). 😁
I'm sure the others will all start to emerge soon now that it's getting warmer; all our snow and ice had finally melted away by the beginning of this week.

The very tiny pale brown Spider that has been living in our Peace Lily ever since I bought it last year (and probably came with it ;o>) has suddenly started with venturing out onto the Priory Dresser and wandering across to spend it's afternoon's climbing up the long stems of the Anthurium.

He also doesn't answer back when I talk to him - but does occasionally seem to give me a bit of a friendly wave with one of his front Legs ;o>

Here you go, Suzy, we can always try and bring it back round to music. And seeing as The Cure have been a recent topic...

"On candy stripe legs the spiderman comes
Softly through the shadow of the evening sun
Stealing past the windows of the blissfully dead
Looking for the victim shivering in bed
Searching out fear in the gathering gloom and
Suddenly!
A movement in the corner of the room!
And there is nothing I can do
When I realize with fright
That the spiderman is having me for dinner tonight!

Quietly he laughs and shaking his head
Creeps closer now
Closer to the foot of the bed
And softer than shadow and quicker than flies
His arms are all around me and his tongue in my eyes
'Be still be calm be quiet now my precious boy
Don’t struggle like that or I will only love you more
For it’s much too late to get away or turn on the light
The spiderman is having you for dinner tonight'

And I feel like I’m being eaten
By a thousand million shivering furry holes
And I know that in the morning I will wake up
In the shivering cold

And the spiderman is always hungry…"
