Sorry.

Helen The Melon | 3432 comments Here are some new tunes:-

Cordyceps by Death's Head - https://m.youtube.com/watch?feature=y...

Paranoia by Dynammo - https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=qh6-KkI...

In God You Trust by Pilgrims of Yearning - https://m.youtube.com/watch?feature=y...

Shadow Dance by L'Avenir - https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=-3qKKJj...

Hmmmmm. I'm not coming across quite so much new stuff at the mo & the quality is decidedly questionable! These are the best I've found recently & they are rather average. Sorry. Must try harder :-(

message 561: by TheFoe (last edited Jun 04, 2020 11:16AM) (new)

TheFoe | 2646 comments The Dynammo track was ok, just getting good and then stopped. Thought the L' Avenir song 'Shadow Dance' was pretty decent too.

Know what you mean about quality Helen, don't often get recommended Darkwave music, which is why I rarely post any links, but when I did recently it was for House Of Heaven 'Sleep'. Not exactly inspired.

Think I've put some Houses of Heaven stuff on this thread before, the name & music both seem v familiar.

Cold Transmission Music have just released a 33 track long compilation on Bandcamp. Mainly coldwave/darkwave, post-punk. I managed to listen to about half of it this morning & it's ok so far (pleasant enough but nothing outstanding yet!):-

https://coldtransmissionmusic.bandcam...

Their other "Zeitgeist" comps are worth a listen too - https://coldtransmissionmusic.bandcam...

Helen The Melon | 3432 comments Think we all need a good laugh at the moment so here's another hilariously bad song/vid from Sonsombre. What a prat, eh? 😁

One Thousand Graves - https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=-w6BJfA...

message 564: by Helen The Melon (new)

Helen The Melon | 3432 comments And a real mixture of new music:-

Hollow Eyes (Locked Down Mix) by Mark E Moon - https://markemoon1.bandcamp.com/track...

Hole-Frog by Cirque d'Ess - https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=nERYQzY...
Ritualwave apparently. Nope, I've never heard of it either.

Yay! The fabulously quirky Greek sailor, Tango Mangalore, is back with a new song:
Shamisen 三味線 (He who loves out of guilt has long forgotten the face of his lover) - https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=MSvztPq...

And finally a cover version. Not v dark but....what the hell. It's a mixture of Real Life's "Send Me an Angel" and a little bit of Corey Hart's "Sunglasses at Night".
Send me an Angel / Sunglasses at Night by The Foreign Resort - https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=jx7fNl2...

Helen The Melon | 3432 comments Anyone still interested in playlists of stuff collated from this thread? Here they are anyway!

Sisters of Mercy Bootlegs, Session versions & New (live) Songs - https://m.youtube.com/playlist?list=P...

Older music - https://m.youtube.com/playlist?list=P...

This second one is stuff that's pre-2017 that doesn't appear on any of the other playlists.
Both will continue to be added to as this thread progresses (if it does) & if I remember to keep updating them!

Let me know if the links work please. Thanks.
Shall I list all the links in the OP so that they're all in one place?

Helen The Melon | 3432 comments Apologies for mentioning them again but TSOM's 1984 John Peel session is now available in full on Amazon - https://www.amazon.co.uk/John-Peel-Se...

The final song, Emma, has eventually been released - https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=ld7E5Ur...

I still don't understand why these various sessions (Jensen & 2 x Peel) have been released track by track, just release one complete damn session in one go please. Grrrr. (Yes, I know they have been available as bootlegs & on YouTube, but still, grrrr.)

Yeh, I like Emma too. Don't particularly like their version of Jolene*, but then I can't stand the original.

This live cover of their's always makes me laugh - https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=zu1XfUc...

*Inane chat warning...My best friend at Uni was called Jolene & she hated the song too. When we were out shopping & the song came on the shop muzak playlist we always had to immediately abandon our goods & leg it out the store. She couldn't bear to hear it & was v embarrassed in case anyone we knew saw her whilst the song was playing. It got played more often than you'd think, unfortunately.

Inane chat no. 2 warning...one of my good friends in Sixth Form was called Penny Lane. She was mortified when one boyfriend used to drive around, or park up, blasting out "Penny Lane" on his car stereo with the windows down. Yes, he was a bit dodgy; a "kev".

End of inane chat.

Penny Lane? What a kind of evil parents did she have!!!

Helen The Melon | 3432 comments Sera69 wrote: "Penny Lane? What a kind of evil parents did she have!!!"

😁 Not evil at all. They were a very nice "normal" middle class couple called Mr. & Mrs. Lane. They just happened to call their daughter Penny but not because of the song. I don't think they realised until it was too late.

No, she wasn't a Penelope, just plain old Penny.

More inane chat warning... I knew a couple who named their 3 daughter's Crystal, Chantal & Leah, in that order. Go on, say them quickly all together: CrystalChantalLeah. They didn't realise what they'd done.
I also knew someone called Jillian Leake, middle name May. True. Hee hee.

Step away from the cider, Mr. Foe!

There is a Ronald MacDonald in the village. And the Moody's used to live directly opposite the Jolly's just down the road from my house. Sorry, I can't use cider as an excuse for my off topic wafflings. Stupid not very strong cup of tea!

What's with all the capital letters these days? Are they all using Tech's castoffs? All those capital letters he can't be bothered to use are being gobbled up by band names & song titles? Seems to be a trend/plague these last few years.

Strong cider? Not so strong cup of tea? Definitely some strong shrooms!

Capital letters for band names/song titles, something I've also noticed but never seen the obsession, bit like people getting tattoos over the last few years, I hate them.

Oh and Tech definitely likes Capital Letters :-)

Shroom tea? If only! It's peppermint tea this afternoon. 😁

Yeh, I don't get the capital letter thing/trend either.
I am probably just about to offend multiple people on here so apologies in advance. I'm with you on the tattoos, Foe. I don't like them either, especially on women. (Aaargh, that sounds awful but I'm definitely not old fashioned or sexist.)

Ooops. Just noticed that I got the song title & band name the wrong way round on that track you particularly liked (corrected it now). It's by Uniform - https://unifuckingform.bandcamp.com/ New album out in Sept.
