This song, in various forms, appears on some Sisters of Mercy bootlegs, notably (the excellent) Victims Of Circumstance, and Mr. Hussey (hee hee, autocorrect still keeps wanting to change this to Gusset, maybe I should let it?) has recently uploaded this to YouTube. More random internet wanderings has yielded the discovery of a Swedish goth rock band called "Sons Of Neverland" (hmmmm, "Preachers Of Neverland" who sound v similar were also from Sweden, weren't they?). The 'Christine' cover isn't actually too bad, not as good as the original but still pretty listenable. The Sonsombre song was just dull and sadly I do think they take themselves seriously. As for Clan Of Xymox, a band who I quite like, heard this one the other day and actually said "meh" when I heard it, so good call on that one! :-)Edit - the bass at 0.42 is pretty similar to 'Lucretia', I can hear that.

Sorry Helen, have been meaning to post on here but never seem to get a chance. Went to work at 5am this morning for a supposed 5 and a half hour shift before been told that I was actually due to start at 5pm hasn't helped my cause. :-(Didn't forget World Goth day completely as I was listening to KEXP, and they kept mentioning it, their dj Atticus is a renowned goth. So belated greetings to you on that. Also I don't know if you heard, but Budgie and Lol Tolhurst are joining forces to form LXB, a very much drum driven band, nothing on youtube yet.

"LXB got its start in part thanks to The Trap Set's Joe Wong (a drummer himself and composer), who invited Budgie to breakfast while he was in L.A. on tour with John Grant. Joe brought along Lol and the two reconnected. Also at that breakfast was Kevin Haskins, drummer for Bauhaus and Love and Rockets, who was also originally going to be part of the project but then he got busy with the Bauhaus reunion. They hope to still have Haskins on the record.
LXB's album was made with producer Jacknife Lee, and is set to feature appearances from Kim Gordon, Primal Scream frontman Bobby Gillespie and IDLES guitarist Mark Bowen. Tolhurst says there are 13 tracks with the music finished but a few still need vocals (and vocalists). Budgie says 'It’s a real amalgamation of some early Cure and Creatures. It’s neither of those things in whole, but… it sounds very ‘the spirit of 77'.'
Additionally, Budgie & Lol announced they're starting a new goth-oriented podcast titled 'The Bleak End' that will be about the early days of The Cure and the Banshees and will have them talking with other musicians from that era. Stay tuned."
