I have been working everywhere, but have spent the most time in kid's; I think I prefer that section as I've been the busiest in there, a lot of parents coming in and buying clothes for their kids for Christmas while they are in school, so my days fly in.

My personal challenge for 2018 will be to read 80 books from my owned TBR (acquired before 1st January 2018). I've also been doing some open-ended challenges:
- read one book from each country in the world (by author's nationality/country of origin)
-read a book published in each of the past 100 years (1917 through 2017)

I have been working everywhere, but have spent the most tim..."
So glad for you that your days fly by. Wishing you the best of luck.

Thanks Marina! And I like both of the challenges you chose - I need to do that one with the owned books!

I've been doing that one every year since 2015, but this time it's got to be serious! I mean, I really need to make a dent in my owned books and ebooks. I have around 300!

I know what you mean! I have a similar problem!

I wish you all the best with this challenge. I did it for these past two years and I had only around 80 books! Towards the end it was hard because I had left the less interesting books. Now I am satisfied but not fully because of the books I didn't finish because too boring or because I wasn't anymore interested in the topic. But now I feel however free to read whatever I want and I will refrain from buying too many books.

One way I’ve seen suggested to help get through tbr piles is to use a random number generator. List all the books and randomly select numbers. You can either just read the number it selects or randomly chose 3 and pick the one you fancy from that. I’m going to try and do this once a month this year

I've done that, always found it the easiest way to decide what I'm going to read next.

I've tried it this year but I failed miserably. I randomly selected 20 books to read throughout the year, but I ended up only reading 7 or 8, I think. I just wasn't interested in the other ones at the moment. I usually do challenges as a way to decide what to read next. I find this quite fun.
Wishing a happy holiday season to all my goodreads friends. I hope however you are spending the holiday period is filled with love and happiness (and books!)

I'm so happy I found such a wonderful, warm and friendly group of people to befriend. I am looking forward to getting to know everyone even more in 2018.
Happy New Year to all. May the New Year bring lots of smiles, laughs and good memories.

We have a beautiful sunny day here - I hope it’s a good omen for the year to come.
Just wondering if anyone in the group has experience with spinal synovial cysts and is willing to share their thoughts with me.

I used to work in retail as a teenager. I hated being on the shop floor, always preferred being behind a till or filling stock.
