The four of us are sitting down now to watch "A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving" as we do every year, and then we'll be off to pick up the food!

Katlyn Bolingbroke (katlynbolingbroke) So I am about to finish the harry potter series and was wondering what series I should start next or should I just read a stand alone book?
My husbands vote is for me to start the fablehaven series after I finish harry potter. What's everyones suggestions or Ideas?

I did love the whole Harry Potter series of books! My nephew has read and enjoys the Fablehaven books, but I haven't read them myself so I couldn't say. I think maybe the Fablehaven books are targeted a little younger, but they sound fun.

I'm not sure what would be the best followup.

It's a standalone, but I thought The Invention of Hugo Cabret was really magical and a lot of fun.

Happy Hanukkah!!
I decided to be doughnut-free this year but on Monday a colleague brought Svenj (Morrocan fried dough) into the office and yesterday DH's gave him a boxed set of 4 fancy doughnuts (v trendy for the last few years).
I will have to eat salad for the rest of the month to compensate!

Yesterday my nephew Dylan and his girlfriend came through for a final visit before their school semesters start. I saw a ton of him over Christmas break, but I hadn't seen Faith in a while so that was nice.

We met outside to minimize covid risks; I chose a spot by the bay, and by coincidence, a couple dolphins were kind enough to come in fairly close and leap above the water several times. It was Faith's first time seeing a dolphin so she enjoyed it. Thank you dolphins wherever you are now. :)

But work has taken a fairly hellish turn with a problem I can't figure out. I hope I can figure it out soon! Otherwise next week is not going to be pleasant at all!

Karin We're about to have a significant dip in temperatures. I have become quite wimpy again--I toughened up when I lived in Ottawa, but that was a long time ago now, which is hard to believe when I add up the numbers.
