General Chit-Chat Part 2!

Israeli office wear is very casual and I could probably get away with it.
I am hoping we might go back to working from home. A official annoucment last night was advising it.
At my husband's work place the dining room has returned to take-away only and people are being asked to work from home if possible.

As a doctor's daughter, but NOT as a professional, I suggest wearing the slip ons if you can get away with it, at least until your knee heals.

Things are going this bad?
Here in Italy the numbers are increasing actually, but at the moment we keep on relying on the vaccination

While it's not a problem with your one line comments, it is very difficult for me to read your all caps messages online :)

Back in January I set up my reading challenge for 2021. A pretty ambitious 150 books but since I am now retired and no grandchildren on the horizon I thought this was quite manageable. In fact turns out I’m well ahead of schedule with 141 books read. So feeling pretty pleased with myself…😀😀😀
Pause for silent appreciation from AAB pals.
👏👏👏( thought I’d give myself some applause)
Pretty annoyed then to open an unsolicited email from GR anonymous bod today informing me that they want to remind me about the challenge as I have only read 41 books of 150… 🤨🤨🤨
I decided to click reply and gave anon bod a pretty grumpy response. I await an abject apology…
Not holding my breath.

According to GR ticker it’s HORROR WEEK at Goodreads!
Think they have that wrong too since halloween not until END October !
Is anyone in charge there or is it all run by bots?
Mind you since mince pies have hit our UK supermarkets this week maybe “horror week” should take place in July.

Strange indeed! I set my reading goal to 184 books - more or less a book every other day - and I'm ahead of the expectation but not as close as you to the end:157/184. But no mail whatsoever, neither of encouragement or of reminder...

Christine, I have already asked you to please take these national day posts to your own thread. You’re closing up up the general chit chat forum.

Hi Alannah - I was trying to message you about this. Could you send me a message, please? Thanks
For everyone in the US, hope you have a happy Thanksgiving!
What is everyone's plans? Since I'm not the best cook, Ron has only the one hand, and Ron's parents are getting older, we're picking up a box of food from Marie Calendars and just heating everything up. Lazy, I know. :) But I guess the important thing is spending the time together with family!

Again, Happy Thanksgiving!

Is there anyway your employer would let you wear the slip ons with your knee problem? I don't know what you do for work, so of course that still might not be okay.
