suzysunshine7 | 14505 comments Some are born to run, Some are born to fly
It's the essence of the love inbuilt in every man
Some are born for fun, Some are born for lies
Do not regret a moment living out your life

Some are born to love, Some are born to hide
Through the echoes of the feelings drawn in every man
Some are born to lose, Some are born to try
For trying harder seems the only way to go

Some are born to run, Some are born to fly
Through the echoes of the feelings drawn in every man
Some are born to lose, Some are born to try
Trying harder seems the only way to go
Trying harder seems the only way to go

Here we meet, I feel it in the morning light
Getting it together, does it feel right? ohhh
Let us be together in the morning light
Let us be together in the dawning light, ohhh ...

(Yes) ;o>

Tech XXIII | 6384 comments oh, you just had to, didn't you? you wouldn't let it lie! :)

That's the way it goes
The city is so cold
And I'm, I'm so sold
That's why I know

I said hit it!
Born to lose
Born to lose
Born to lose
Baby I'm born to lose

Nothing to do
I've nothing to say
Only one thing that I want
It's the only way

I said hit it!
Born to lose
I said hit it!
Born to lose
I said hit it!
Born to lose
Baby I'm born to lose
Baby I'm born to lose

Living in a jungle
It ain't so hard
Living in the city
It'll eat out, eat out your heart

Val H. | 13631 comments Born to lose, I've lived my life in vain
Every dream has only brought me pain
All my life I've always been so blue
Born to lose and now I'm losing you

Born to lose, it seems so hard to bear
How I long to always have you near
You've grown tired and now you say we're through
Born to lose and now I'm losing you

Born to lose, my every hope is gone
It's so hard to face that empty dawn
You were all the happiness I knew
Born to lose and now I'm losing you

There's no use to dream of happiness
All I see is only loneliness
All my life I've always been so blue
Born to lose and now I'm losing you
Born to lose and now I'm losing you

Tech XXIII | 6384 comments Go ahead put the blame on me, another reason to disagree,
Deaf to all the truth for sure, hear the hammer knocking at your door.
But you know it's all fairy tales, a heavy heart like a bag of nails,

Stand up! Show your face, another victim of the cold embrace.
Before too long, no more singers, no more songs.

Oh no, last call, you had a chance, you lost it all.
Got some, bad news, never learned to dance, born to lose.

SussexWelsh | 4851 comments Take a look at these hands.
Take a look at these hands.
The hand speaks. The hand of a government man.
Well I'm a tumbler. Born under punches.
I'm so thin.

All I want is to breathe I'm too thin
Won't you breathe with me?
Find a little space, so we can move in-between In-Between it
And keep on step ahead, of yourself.

Don't you miss it, don't you miss it.
Some 'a you people just about missed it!
Last time to make plans!
Well I'm a tumbler...
I'm a Government Man.

Never seen anything like that before
Falling bodies tuble 'cross the floor Well I'm a tumbler!
When you get to where you wanna be Thank you! Thank you!
When you get to where you wanna be Don't even mention it!

Take a look at these hands. They're passing in-between us.
Take a look at these hands
Take a look at these hands. You don't have to mention it.
No thanks. I'm a Government Man.

And the heat goes on...And the heat goes on...And the heat goes on...
And the heat goes on...Where the hand has been...And the heat goes
on...And the heat goes on...And the heat goes on...And the heat goes
on...And the heat goes on...And the heat goes on...And the heat goes
on...Where the hand has been...And the heat goes on...And the heat
goes on...
I'm not a drowning man!
And I'm not a burning building! (I'm a tumbler!)
Drowning cannot hurt a man!
Fire cannot hurt a man. (Not the Government Man.)

All I want is to breathe Thank you. Thank you
Won't you breathe with me?
Find a little space...So we move in-between I'm so thin
And keep one step ahead of yourself. I'm catching up with myself

All I want it to breathe
Won't you breathe with me Hands of a Government Man
Find a little space so we move in-between
And keep one step ahead of yourself. Don't you miss it! Don't you
miss it!

Blood of Malcolm
Goes running through my veins
And Nat Turner's vision
I can see it very plain
Saw William Gordon and Paul Bogle
Hanging from a tree
May their spirits and their souls
Come charging into me

I was born fe rebel
I was born fe rebel
I was born, oh yes I was born to fight
Radical to the bone, trouble won't leave me alone
Radical to the bone, trouble won't leave me alone

Like Hannibal that crossed the Alps
Went on to conquer Rome
Like David slew Goliath
With a sling shot and a stone
Like crazy Horse and Sitting Bull
The great Geronimo
I'll fight with every tooth and nail
And every brick and stone

Martin O' | 2196 comments Honey, dont walk out, I'm too drunk to follow
You know you won't feel this way tomorrow
Well maybe I'm a little rough around the edges
Inside a little hollow
I get faced with somethings, sometimes
They are so hard to swallow - hey!
I was born a rebel
Down in Dixie, on a Sunday morning
With one foot in the grave and one foot on the pedal
I was born to rebel
(Tom Petty)

Tech XXIII | 6384 comments I slept and I dreamed of a time long ago
I saw an army of rebels, dancing on air
I dreamed as I slept, I could see the campfires,
A song of the battle, that was born in the flames,
and the rebels were waltzing on air.

I danced with a girl to the tune of a waltz
that was written to be danced on the battlefield
I danced to the tune of a voice of a girl
A voice that called "Stand till we fall
we stand till all the boys fall."

As we danced came the news that the war was not won
5 armies were coming, with carrige and gun
Through the heart of the camp
swept the news from the front
A cloud crossed the moon, a child cried for food
We knew the war could not be won.

So we danced with a rifle, to the rhythm of the gun
in a glade through the trees i saw my only one
Then the earth seemed to rise hell hot as the sun
The soldiers were dying, there was tune to the sighing.
The song was an old rebel one.

As the smoke of our hopes rose high from the field
My eyes played tricks through the moon and the trees
I slept as I dreamed I saw the army rise
A voice began to call, stand till you fall
The tune was an old rebel one.

SussexWelsh | 4851 comments Virgil Caine is the name
And I served on the Danville train
'Till Stoneman's cavalry came
And tore up the tracks again

In the winter of '65
We were hungry, just barely alive
By May the 10th, Richmond had fell
It's a time I remember, oh so well

The night they drove old Dixie down
And the bells were ringing
The night they drove old Dixie down
And the people were singing
They went, "Na, na, la, na, na, na"

Back with my wife in Tennessee
When one day she called to me
Said "Virgil, quick, come see,
There goes the Robert E. Lee!"

Now, I don't mind chopping wood
And I don't care if the money's no good
You take what you need
And you leave the rest
But they should never
Have taken the very best

The night they drove old Dixie down
And the bells were ringing
The night they drove old Dixie down
And all the people were singing
They went, "Na, na, la, na, na, na"

Like my father before me
I will work the land
And like my brother above me
Who took a rebel stand

He was just 18, proud and brave
But a Yankee laid him in his grave
I swear by the mud below my feet
You can't raise a Caine back up
When he's in defeat

The night they drove old Dixie down
And the bells were ringing
The night they drove old Dixie down
And all the people were singing
They went, "Na, na, la, na, na, na"

The night they drove old Dixie down
And all the bells were ringing
The night they drove old Dixie down
And the people were singing
They went, "Na, na, la, na, na, na"

Madness tight on the heads of the rebels
The bitterness erup's like a heart blas'
Broke glass, ritual of blood an' a-burnin'
Served by a cruelin' fighting
5 nights of horror and of bleeding
Broke glass, cold blades as sharp as the eyes of hate
And the stabbin', it's
War amongs' the rebels
Madness, madness, war
Night number one was in Brixton

'im was a-beatin' up the riddim with a fire
'im comin' down his reggae reggae wire
It was a sound checkin' down your spinal column
A bad music tearin' up your flesh
An' the rebels dem start a fighting

suzysunshine7 | 14505 comments Walking on, walking on broken glass ...
Walking on, walking on broken glass ...

You were the sweetest thing that I ever knew
But I don't care for sugar, honey, if I can't have you?
Since you've abandoned me, My whole life has crashed
Won't you pick the pieces up? ...
'Cause it feels just like I'm walking on broken glass

Walking on, walking on broken glass ...
Walking on, walking on broken glass ...

The sun's still shining in the big blue sky, But it don't mean nothing to me
Ohhh let the rain come down, Let the wind blow through me
I'm living in an empty room, With all the windows smashed
And I've got so little left to lose ...
That it feels just like I'm walking on broken glass

Walking on, walking on broken glass ...

And if you're trying to cut me down, You know that I might bleed
'Cause if you're trying to cut me down, I know that you'll succeed
And if you want to hurt me, There's nothing left to fear
'Cause if you want to hurt me, You're doing really well, my dear

Now everyone of us was made to suffer, Everyone of us was made to weep
But we've been hurting one another, And now the pain has cut too deep
So take me from the wreckage, Save me from the blast
Lift me up and take me back, Don't let me keep on walking ...
I can't keep on walking, Walking on broken glass

Walking on, walking on broken glass ...

(Annie Lennox) ... I love this song! ;o> ... sorry I can't play more but my Laptop is being so incredibly slow today that short posts are pretty much about all that I can manage right now. This has taken me five goes so far!!! ;o<

Tech XXIII | 6384 comments Broken glass everywhere
People pissin' on the stairs, you know they just don't care
I can't take the smell, can't take the noise
Got no money to move out, I guess I got no choice
Rats in the front room, roaches in the back
Junkies in the alley with a baseball bat
I tried to get away but I couldn't get far
'Cause a man with a tow truck repossessed my car
Don't push me 'cause I'm close to the edge
I'm trying not to lose my head
It's like a jungle sometimes
It makes me wonder how I keep from goin' under

suzysunshine7 | 14505 comments All we are is broken glass
Thrown to the floor, we were never meant to last
And all we are are empty shells
Try to pick us up you’re gonna cut yourself

We walk the streets at night
Looking for a thrill, looking for a fight
It was the first day of the rest of our lives
We work fast, never gonna die
Riding up the highway, forty-five
We didn’t know it couldn’t go on forever?

All we are is broken glass
Thrown to the floor we were never meant to last
And all we are are empty shells
Try to pick us up you’re gonna cut yourself

We fought to rule the world
Not knowing just how fragile we really were?
Like it was the first day of the rest of our lives
Than the bricks began to fall
And we can see the cracks along the wall
We didn’t know it couldn’t go on forever?

All we are is broken glass
Thrown to the floor we were never meant to last
And all we are are empty shells
Try to pick us up you’re gonna cut yourself

suzysunshine7 | 14505 comments There is a sound like breaking glass, When water falls on dying grass
There is a sound sung by the sea, And plastic bags caught in trees

There is a sound all buildings cry, Right before the morning light
The quiet sound that's left behind, When airplanes fall from the sky

It sleeps inside fluorescent lights, And waiting rooms painted white
And late at night when you're asleep, It follows you in your dreams

breaking glass
In your room again

The broken seats in empty rows
It all belongs to me you know

Val H. | 13631 comments If all our life is but a dream
Fantastic posing greed
Then we should feed our jewelry to the sea
For diamonds do appear to be
Just like broken glass to me

And then she said she can't believe
Genius only comes along
In storms of fabled foreign tongues
Tripping eyes, and flooded lungs
Northern downpour sends its love

Hey moon, please forget to fall down
Hey moon, don't you go down

Sugarcane in the easy mornin'
Weathervanes my one and lonely

The ink is running toward the page
It's chasin' off the days
Look back at both feet
And that winding knee
I missed your skin when you were east
You clicked your heels and wished for me

Through playful lips made of yarn
That fragile Capricorn
Unraveled words like moths upon old scarves
I know the world's a broken bone
But melt your headaches, call it home

Hey moon, please forget to fall down
Hey moon, don't you go down

Sugarcane in the easy mornin'
Weathervanes my one and lonely

SussexWelsh | 4851 comments A thousand nights, I've spent alone
Solitaire, to the bone
But I don't mind, I'm my own best friend
From the beginning, to the end
My life, my heart, black night, dark star, Capricorn

December's child, the only one
What I do, is what I've done
I realise, I get so cold
When I was young I was already old
My life, my heart, black night, dark star, Capricorn

I always knew, the only way
Is never live, beyond today
They proved me right
They proved me wrong
But they could never last this long
My life, my heart, black night, dark star, Capricorn

He ate organic food
He believed in love and peace
And never wore no shoes

Long hair, beard and sandals
And a funky bunch of friends
Reckon we'd just nail him up
If he came down again

'Cause everybody's gotta have somebody to look down on
Who they can feel better than at any time they please
Someone doin' somethin' dirty decent folks can frown on
If you can't find nobody else, then help yourself to me

Eggheads cussing rednecks cussing
Hippies for their hair
Others laugh at straights who laugh at
Freaks who laugh at squares

Who hate the Blacks who hate the Klan
Most of us hate anything that
We don't understand

Like the secret hills, where you walk alone
Where the wind can speak, my other names
Like the air you breathe, will you remember me?

Will you remember me, as your airplane flies
Over foreign seas, and breaking skies
Like a perfect child, you can't bear to leave
In your last long days, will you remember me?

Will you remember me, on the edge of life
Where time runs slow, where some can fly
In these shuttered rooms, where we say goodbye
When the soul is free, will you remember?
When there's no need to breathe, will you remember me?

suzysunshine7 | 14505 comments You'll remember me when the west wind moves, Among the fields of barley
You can tell the sun in his jealous sky, When we walked in fields of gold
So she took her love for to gaze awhile, Among the fields of barley
In his arms she fell as her hair came down, Among the fields of gold

Will you stay with me? Will you be my love, Among the fields of barley?
And you can tell the sun in his jealous sky, When we walked in fields of gold.

I never made promises lightly, And there have been some that I've broken,
But I swear, in the days still left, We'll walk in fields of gold
We'll walk in fields of gold

I never made promises lightly, And there have been some that I've broken,
But I swear, in the days still left, We'll walk in fields of gold.
We'll walk in fields of gold

Many years have passed since those summer days, Among the fields of barley
See the children run as the sun goes down, As you lie in fields of gold.
You'll remember me when the west wind moves, Among the fields of barley.
You can tell the sun in his jealous sky, When we walked in fields of gold

When we walked in fields of gold ... When we walked in fields of gold

SussexWelsh | 4851 comments Well the wicked king of clubs awoke
And it was to his queen turned
His lips were laughing as they spoke
His eyes like bullets burned

The sun's upon a gambling day
His queen smiled low and blissfully
Let's make some wretched fool to pay
Plain it was she did agree

He send his deuce down into diamond
His four to heart, and his trey to spade
Three kings with their legions come
Preparations soon were made

They voted club the day's commander
Gave him an army face and number
All but the outlaw jack of diamonds
And the aces in the sky

Well, he gave his sevens first instructions
Spirit me a game of stud
Stakes unscarred by limitation
Between a man named Gold and man named Mudd

Club filled Gold with greedy vapors
Till his long, green eyes did glow
And Mud was left with the sighs and trembles
Watching his hard earned money go

Flushes fell on Gold like water
Tens they paired and paired again
But the aces only flew through heaven
And the diamond jack called no man friend

Now, the Diamond Queen saw Mudd's ordeal
Began to think of her long lost son
Fell to her knees with a mother's mercy
And prayed to the angels every one

Now, the Diamond Queen, she prayed and prayed
And the Diamond Angel filled Mudd's hole
The wicked King of Clubs himself
Fell in face down in front of Gold

Now, three kings come to Clubs command
But the angels from the sky did ride
Three kings up on the streets of Gold
Three fireballs on the muddy side

The club queen heard her husband's call
But Lord, that Queen of Diamond's joy
When the outlaw in the heavenly hall
Turned out to be her wandering boy

Now, Mudd he checked and Gold bet all
And Mudd he raised and Gold did call
And the smile just melted off his face
When Mudd turned over that diamond ace

Now, here's what this story's told
If you feel like Mudd you'll end up Gold
If you feel like lost, you'll end up found
So amigo, lay them raises down

He wore rat-drawn shoes and an old stetson hat
Had a '28 Ford, had payments on that

So he walked through the rain, and he walked through the mud
Till he came to a place called The Bucket Of Blood

He said "Mr. M**********r, you know who I am?"

While a dark girl sang and played the guitar
There was hookers and hustlers, they filled up the room
I heard about this place they call the Spanish Moon

All that my eyes are revealing? ... Lady of Spain, I love you

Stop in all the by-ways, playin' rock 'n' roll.
Gettin' robbed, gettin' stoned,
Gettin' beat up, broken boned.
Gettin' had, gettin' took;
I tell you folks, it's harder than it looks.

It's a long way to the top if you wanna rock 'n' roll.
It's a long way to the top if you wanna rock 'n' roll.
If you think it's easy doin' one night stands,
Try playin' in a rock roll band.

Tech XXIII | 6384 comments They went and cut the record, the record hit the chart
And someone in the newspaper said it "was art"
Disco Cassanova said "it's heavy on the riff"
The local teeny bopper band was playin' it to death

[Chorus]
Shake and pop, shake and pop
Shake and pop, shake and pop

[Verse 2]
The telephones are ringing, the boys are getting hot
They're jetting out to Rio and some other sunny spots
Some senoritas say "The singers sound terrific"
Their personal appearances are stopping the shops

[Chorus]

[Bridge]
Hey long distance its a rock and roll romance
CBS is going to pay a great big advance
Hey Atlantic come on take chance
Arista say they "love you but the kids can't dance to it"

[Verse 3]
They cut another record, it never was a hit
And someone in the newspaper said it "was shit"
The drummer is a bookie, the singer is a whore
The bass player's selling clothes he never would have wore

Val H. | 13631 comments They played everything they knew, nearly every song
Some questionable covers and they played for far too long
They'd never played like that before, nor played to such a crowd
And the ex-bass he was jealous and the singer's mum was proud

They lost a few along the way, though for the most part they were staunch
Shaking hands and patting backs 'cause after all you know
It was their record launch

They played everything they knew and against all good advice
That dirty stinky ballad, I believe they played it twice
The singer's mates from work came down, it seemed a little slack
While he played every song he knew, they played eight ball up the back

They lost a few along the way, though for the most part they were staunch
Shaking hands and patting backs 'cause after all you know
It was their record launch

A drunken Irish publican with hands upon his hips
As the band all sat round toasting with cheap champagne to their lips
A darling doll in a cocktail frock, the drummer's belle de jour
She felt a little overdressed and prayed this didn't mean they would tour
Oh my God, they're going to tour
Over to Perth they're going to tour
Maybe up to Cairns they're going to tour

They played everything they knew until they couldn't play no more
I think encores are just fine but hey, they should've stopped at four
And they'll be back on Wednesday night and don't you get me wrong
If they keep on playing like this, I don't think they'll play here for long

They lost a few along the way, though for the most part they were staunch
Shaking hands and patting backs 'cause after all you know
It was their record launch
Just drinking beers and kicking back 'cause after all you know, it was their record launch
The drummer's girl and the singer's mum and his mates from work there at their record launch

Tech XXIII | 6384 comments Well, we've been to London and we've been to LA
Spain, New Zealand and the USA
Europe, Japan and Pango Pango
Canada, Siam, Oz and Kamoto
The kids all come from miles around
The party get start when the sun goes down
And holiday inn's the only home I know
I know, I know, I know.
Rock'n roll's alive cause got the power, baby
Cruisin' down the highway at 500 miles an hour, maybe
We got a fuel injected tour bus, man, it really flies
With a video tape deck inside
Let's go rock'n roll, everybody com-along (2x)
Touring, touring, it's never boring (3x)
Touring, touring, oh baby, touring
Especially with your favorite girl
Touring, touring all around the world

Val H. | 13631 comments Last year we went to London and Paris, Texas
We went on a bus tour, the great Texas honky tonk tour
Here are some snapshots about life on the road.....

Let me tell you 'bout the life I lead
It ain't all it's cracked up to be
Of what you been told, 'bout life on the road
Rolling round in a painted bus,
Just so y'all can look at us
Life on the road

You pack your clothes and your shaving kit
Some extra socks and those pants that fit
Check 'em for holes, life on the road
Everything you pack is black, washed it all upon your back
For life on the road

Climb on board the bus and grab your bunk
One on the bottom is the one you want
Less rock and roll as you roll down the road
Plug John Wayne in the VCR
Let the driver tell you where you are
Life on the road

You get a bed and a TV set, you get an ashtray for your cigarette
You get HBO, well that's life on the road
Get one down on the bottom floor,
Hang a do not disturb sign on the door
Life on the road

You get clean sheets and a wake-up call
Don't go up north in the spring and fall
But not when it's cold, that's no life on the road
Coffee black with pie a la mode
That's what you want before the show
Life on the road

Tonight we're playing that high school gym
They're all drunk before I even begin
They're hollering "Pissin' in the Wind"
Life on the road

The local band opens up for us
Now the PA's got a real big buzz
Life on the road

The good news is I get to sing my songs
The bad news is they all sing along
And they're singing wrong notes
Ahh, life on the road

But if I stop, it won't be long
Before they're singing someone else's song
Life on the road

Leaving town
Out again

When days are done
Black times again
Good times are over
Hard times again
This ain't no better than my hometown
The place I left behind
On the sidewalks as I move along
Hitch-hiker man on the road

On the road again
On the road again
On the road again
On the road

Came to this northern town
Looking for the Promised Land
Dwelt among gangster men
Pusher man and preacher man
Would sell his selfishness for happiness
And security
A place where people sell themselves
Hitch-hiker man on the road

suzysunshine7 | 14505 comments The man from the television crawled into the train
I wonder who he's gonna stick it in this time
Everyone was looking for a little entertainment
So they'll probably pull his hands off when they find out his name

And then they shut down the power all along the line
And we got stuck in the tunnel where no lights shine
They got to touching all the girls were to scared to call out ...
Nobody was saying anything at all.

We were waiting for the end of the world
Waiting for the end of the world,Waiting for the end of the world
Dear Lord I sincerely hope you're coming? 'Cause you really started something

Things got back to normal as the train began to roll again
We got to the station about twenty minutes later
The legendary hitchhiker says that he knows where it's at
Now he'd like to go to Spain or somewhere like that,
With his two-tone Bible and his funny cigarettes, his suntan lotion and his castanets

He was waiting for the end of the world
Waiting for the end of the world, Waiting for the end of the world
Dear Lord I sincerely hope you're coming? 'Cause you really started something

And then the bride, the groom, the congregation and the priest
All got onto the train when we were three stations east, yeah
Hiding from a scandal in the national press
They had been trying to get married since they stole the wedding dress
You may see them drowning as you stroll along the beach,
But don't throw out the lifeline till they're clean out of reach

Waiting for the end of the world, waiting for the end of the world ...

Tech XXIII | 6384 comments Baby, I've been waiting,
I've been waiting night and day
I didn't see the time,
I waited half my life away
There were lots of invitations
And I know you sent me some
But I was waiting
For the miracle, for the miracle to come
I know you really loved me
But, you see, my hands were tied
And I know it must have hurt you,
It must have hurt your pride
To have to stand beneath my window
With your bugle and your drum
And me I'm up there waiting
For the miracle, for the miracle to come
Ah I don't believe you'd like it,
You wouldn't like it here
There ain't no entertainment
And the judgments are severe
The Maestro says it's Mozart
But it sounds like bubble gum
When you're waiting
For the miracle, for the miracle to come

Wanting the saddest kind of pain
Waiting for the day when I will crawl away

Nothing is what I feel
Waiting for the drugs to make it real
Waiting for the day when I will crawl away

Waiting to be disciplined
Aching for your nails across my skin
Waiting for the day when I will crawl away

There's no reason
No, no reason
I will wait

Saw secret scenes in the cracks of the cities
Secret scenes in the seams of the world
I will wait

I believe in practicalities
Practicalities are possibilities
I will wait

And this occurs:
Idle I

suzysunshine7 | 14505 comments Well, I came home, Like a stone, And I fell heavy into your arms
These days of dust, Which we've known, Will blow away with this new sun

But I'll kneel down, Wait for now, And I'll kneel down, Know my ground
And I will wait, I will wait for you, And I will wait, I will wait for you

So break my step, And relent, Well, you forgave and I won't forget
Know what we've seen, And him with less, Now in some way shake the excess

'Cause I will wait, I will wait for you, And I will wait, I will wait for you
And I will wait, I will wait for you, And I will wait, I will wait for you

Now I'll be bold, As well as strong, And use my head alongside my heart
So tame my flesh, And fix my eyes, A tethered mind freed from the lies

And I'll kneel down, Wait for now, I'll kneel down, Know my ground
Raise my hands, Paint my spirit gold, And bow my head, Keep my heart slow

'Cause I will wait, I will wait for you, And I will wait, I will wait for you
And I will wait, I will wait for you, And I will wait, I will wait for you

I am waiting, I am waiting (oh yeah, oh yeah)
Waiting for someone to come out of somewhere
Waiting for someone to come out of somewhere
You can't hold out, you can't hold out
Oh yeah, oh yeah
You can't hold out, you can't hold out
Oh yeah, oh yeah
Waiting for someone to come out of somewhere
Waiting for someone to come out of somewhere
See it come along and
don't know where it's from
Oh, yes you will find out
Well, it happens all the time
It's censored from our minds
You'll find out
Slow or fast, slow or fast
Oh yeah, oh yeah
End at last, end at last
Oh yeah, oh yeah
Waiting for someone to come out of somewhere
Waiting for someone to come out of somewhere
Stand up coming years
and escalation fears
Oh, yes we will find out
Well, like a withered stone
Fears will pierce your bones
You'll find out
Oh we're waiting, oh we're waiting
Oh yeah, oh yeah
Oh we're waiting, oh we're waiting
Oh yeah, oh yeah
Waiting for someone to come out of somewhere
Waiting for someone to come out of somewhere
Oh we're waiting, oh we're waiting
Oh we're waiting, oh were waiting...

Tech XXIII | 6384 comments Welcome to Mars! It's open all hours
"What are we doing here?"
Bill's in the back and Fred's on the phone, sayin'
"What are we doing here?" (Oh, he was sayin' that?)
You are never alone in the Twilight Zone
"What are we doing here?"

[Chorus]
Waiting. For. Mary
Waiting. For. Mary
Waiting. For. Mary
Oh

[Verse 2]
I oughta know but my memory is goin'
"What are we doing here?"
As bad as it seems, maybe we're dreamin'
"What are we doing here?"
Don't mind the stares we've paid for these chairs
"What are we doing here?"
And keep up that smile, it might be awhile
"What are we doing here?"

[Chorus]
Waiting. For. Mary
Waiting. For. Mary
Waiting. For. Mary
Oh

[Bridge]
Oh, I
Wonder why
She can't be
On time
Ever? (pere ubu, do a lot of waiting, it seems!)

They watch the sunset and watch it rise again
They got no Great Divide
Nowhere in the world to hide
2000 miles and half a dozen days
I drop that dime like I'm droppin' down to pray
It's all a distant past
Calling from a booth of glass
Just once
Just once I'd like to find you
Just once
Just once I'd like to find you
Home

Lez | 7490 comments I've forgotten how it feels with the carpet under my seat
It's the polyester fibers that wrap around my feet
Feels like home, home
When the cold shakes my bones it's the rug that warms my soul
It's the textile to the skin, and the sensation alone feels like home, home
So if you ever come 'round to my house take your shoes off at the door
'Cause it's impolite not to; you'll be damaging my floor
'Cause it's my home
When you're down and you're alone it's the train that brings you home
And your mother, brother, sister, father, waitin' at the door
It's so sweet, sweet
Makes me glad I'm only a stone's throw away
Makes me sad that others can't have it the same way
Oh, home, home

He fills his head with culture
He gives himself an ulcer
He fills his head with culture
He gives himself an ulcer
Down on the disco floor
They make their profits
From the things they sell
To help you cover
And the rubbers you hide
In your top left pocket
At home she's looking for interest
At home she's looking for interest

suzysunshine7 | 14505 comments What can you buy, That lifts a heavy heart up to the sky?
What makes your day? What miracle of life has come to stay?
A taste of love, So sweet, so real you can't let go
And how does it feel? It feels so good ...

But how much do you need? How much, how much do you need?
How much do you need? How much, how much do you need?

Restless, I feel so restless, And in this changing world, I am lost for words
I feel so restless, Ain't got no interest, I couldn't care less, Can't be a success

I want a nice car, A girlfriend, Who's as pretty as a star
I want respect, As much, as much as I can get ...

But how much do you need? How much, how much do you need?
How much do you need? How much, how much do you need?

Restless, I feel so restless, And in this changing world, I am lost for words
I feel so restless, Ain't got no interest, I couldn't care less, Can't be a success

Restless, I am so restless, And this changing world, Leaves me speechless
I am lost for words, But I kept my nerve, And it's not hopeless, if you take less

n*** armbands and dye their hair?
Safety pins and spray your clothes
Talk about anarchy, fascism and boredom?
Well you don't know nuthin'
but you don't really care
How much longer will apathy rule?
They have their hair done and they wear Oxford bags
Take their birds to the pictures and spray your Ford Cortinas
Talk about football, birds and the tele
Well you don't know nuthin'
but you don't really care do ya? - (a.t.v.)
