Carlena | 1753 comments As an ancient Sumerian god, Sin was one of the most powerful among his pantheon. . . Until the night Artemis brutally stole his godhood and left him for dead. For millennia, this ex-god turned Dark-Hunter has dreamed only of regaining his powers and seeking revenge on Artemis. If only life were that simple.

Unfortunately he has bigger fish--or in Sin's case--demons, to fry. The lethal gallu that were buried by his pantheon are now stirring and they are hungry for human flesh. Their goal is to destroy mankind and anyone else who gets in their way. Sin is the only one who can stop them--that is if a certain woman doesn't kill him first. Unfortunately, Sin discovers that now he must rely on her or witness an annihilation of biblical proportions.

Enemies have always made strange bedfellows, but never more so than when the fate of the world hangs in the balance. Now a man who knows only betrayal must trust the one person most likely to hand him to the demons. Artemis may have stolen his godhood, but this one has stolen his heart. The only question is will she keep it or feed it to the ones who want him dead?

Manuela (manu21) | 2559 comments that was a cool book, Carlena, I read it because I wanted to find out more about Katra. (view spoiler) And I like the god stories in the Kenyonverse.

Charlotte (charkro) | 1798 comments Definitely one of my favorite books of the entire series. I've read this book again and again, and I laugh out loud every single time at the interactions between the characters. In particular, I liked Kish (absolutely hilarious), and Sin's rants about Artemis.

One of my favorite scenes in the book, is when Sin has sent Katra away and he basically lives on his couch for a week ... oh, goodness. The conversation between Kish and Damien (where they speculate that Sin just breathes on the gallu) is simply priceless. Not to mention the bit about color palettes.

Artemis, naturally, was as infuriating as ever, not to mention extremely self-absorbed and lacking in compassion. I really, really, wanted to hurt her when she said, "We can always make more", regarding humans. Or when she decides to send Deimos after Sin. Or ... well, really, about 95% of the things she said/did throughout this book. Although it's here that we see one of my favorite Artemis lines ever: "Look what the cow dragged in".

Just a few thoughts in regards to this book, I could easily go on and on and on. =)

Dhfan4life | 10411 comments Totally loved this book as it was about Ash's love child with the heifer Goddess. And I had for sure loved Katra from the past books she was in and thought she would be really awesome to read about. It still pained me that the women that Ash hold close to his heart, still with held it from him that he had a child. That really had to add salt to the wound of how people have treated him in his life.

Yep, definitely fulfilled my expectations. Even got to see another pantheon that was pretty interesting. As well as what kind of abilities that Katra had as well. The only aspect that disappointed me slightly and I discussed it with Amy. Was that Katra turned into her mom a little bit with Kish after she first slept with Sin. Saying that she would sick Sin on him for something he was joking about. Totally read like an Artie moment to me and a little bit beneath Katra. But hey have to get some of Artie in there some how right? At least that way wasn't too bad.

I loved Kish and Damien the daimon working at Sin's casinos. It was great to see another aspect of the daimons as well. I think that it also opened Katra's eyes about things as well. Couldn't relate to any one that closely in this particular story. But for a change that was a good thing as I got to just enjoy the story for what it was.

Loved all the characters and no least faves for a change.

Mayra | 3 comments kish is sooooo funny love the sense of humor through out the book when she finally gets to hug her daddy brought tears to my eyes just wish the was more of her and Ash there is so much they both have to learn about each other.
Yes Dhfan4life,i did not like when she acted like Artemis but she did realize what she was doing and later actually regretted it.
Artmenis just needs a bar b que marinade and allow Simi to eat her!

Karla In my rush to read Acheron, I considered skipping Devil May Cry. Boy, am I glad I didn’t! I read on one of the threads that Devil May Cry would expose a “Big Reveal” concerning my beloved Ash, and I was thrilled to have experienced “the secret” when he did, with him! Being totally enamored and obsessed with Acheron, I found that Devil May Cry was an important precursor to his story; included more insights about him, his past, and present relationships...with Katra, Sin, and Artemis. Thoroughly enjoyed it.

True that. And showed that Katra had more of her daddy in her than her crazy mama. Woot!

Shari-amor | 5275 comments Loved this book but I am a sucker for a villian. Kessar was deliciously wicked in here. That scene in the hotel room after he found out his brother was dead was chilling and edge on your seat thrilling.

Dhfan4life | 10411 comments And that is why I'm happy Kessar is coming back for his ultimate revenge! It has taken him a while to be stewing in his own evil juices. But now he is ready to come back with a vengeance! CAN NOT WAIT!!!

Shari-amor | 5275 comments Yes! It's gonna be the ultimate battle.

Daimons vs. Gallu

It's about to go down!

Dhfan4life | 10411 comments In the day time too I hope. :D And actually makes me wonder what other little goodies the Daimons picked up from the gallu. I mean it's one thing to be out in the sun. But as far as I've seen ALL demons have something much more special than the average joe they are working with. Add that to the mix of what Apollo gave his "children" and you no doubt have some wicked greek style badassians for sure!

Shari-amor | 5275 comments Yeeees! And the gallu have just come into some wicked power and they're gonna wake up the female dragon warriors. *dances giddily*
