This theme has largely been a hit for Stirling. Both the General (5 book series) and Chosen (stand alone) books were great. Both well written and fast paced, they dealt with the ugly reality of war and costs of success AND failures.

Stirling has toned down his super women thread a bit (Draka series) and the sex has been dropped several octaves so the stories tend to be more about the acts of ordinary people in extraordinary situations then some of his other books. Looking forward to more such books and hoping they continue to mature along these lines.

Out of curiosity, doers anyone feel the Draka theme really worth revisiting? Did anyone else get the depressing idea that the end was written before the beginnings of those?
