Mera To Kill a Mockingbird' was first published in 1960 and was written but Harper Lee who is an American author. This book won the Pulitzer Prize and is now classified as a classic. Another book she published is 'Go Set a Watchman' which is a sequel of 'To Kill a Mockingbird'.

This book is set in 1930 where Scout, who is a 6 years old girl lives with her brother Jem and dad, Atticus Flinch, in the town of Maycomb. A black man named Tom Robinson is being charged of attacking a white girl and Atticus Flinch defends the man. This book is written from the point of view of Scout and it addresses the issues of racism and inequality.

The best thing about the book is it give you a good idea of how things were back then with racism and the way people treated each other because they were a different race. The worst thing in the book was the beginning. It was about the town and people in it but I found it boring because I felt like it dragged on.
A memorable character would be Atticus Flinch because he seemed wise, like he always gave good advice to his children and you could never forget what he did. It wouldn't have been easy for him to take Toms case. Most of the town was against him because of the idea of defending a black man.
I like how it was in first person and from the point of view of Scout because since she was only 6, it shows us how she and the other kids in town were raised and how they acted. It demonstrated that it was okay for young people to use certain words that shouldn't be said.
I'll would rate this book 8.5/10 because it was great book with a good issue to write about but I found the start boring
