We all know Ed's values. He is pretty predictable. Right?!

Here, let's talk about our values. What do you want your life to stand for?

My list is here:

family
friends
trees!
nature
music
honesty
integrity
authenticity
fun
helpfulness

You? Thanks for sharing! I can't wait to see what you write for this one.

Wow...I love your list, Michelle. That is awesome. I really like your point about modeling the change you want to see.

Christina | 92 comments Values have always been tricky as many have been hidden by ed or given to me by someone else. Somethings I value are :

music
family
giving to others

....still working on figuring out the others.

Such a great point, Christina. I love what you said about forming your own unique values...not necessarily those given to us. Your list is great! We have some things in common. :)

Christina | 92 comments Music has been part of my life since I was 5 and it's been one of the most helpful things to have in my life still while on the journey to recovery.

I think for me: community, family, friends, music (piano and choir), writing, and authenticity. At least for now.

That's great, Melody! What do you enjoy writing?

message 12: by Melody (new)

Melody | 212 comments I like to journal and reflect through writing. It’s good to purge feelings that way.

I also do a lot of reflecting through writing, whether it be journaling or poetry. I used to reflect through short stories. I also just enjoy writing. I have two novels started, but not sure I'll ever finish them. Writing is so powerful. 😊

Melody | 212 comments Heidi, I'm grateful that you also journal and write poetry. I love to do that as well. I'd like to write a story some day but not sure about what yet....

Hey Melody,
Thank you. Some day a story will come to you. I've had several people tell me to write my actual story. I've started it several times, but I always toss it out for various reasons.
Maybe you could write your personal life story someday?
