Hi Nicky, would you tell me who the author is so I can put it on the group shelf? :)

message 52: by Katie (new)

Katie Harder-schauer | 2 comments Hi everyone. New to the group. My name is Katie and I have 136 ARCs to read for review right now. I'm a read-now addict (I almost never get approved for requests on Netgalley anymore, but that makes sense with my feedback percentage).

I'm looking forward to maybe getting my list under some sort of control.

Evelina | AvalinahsBooks (avalinahsbooks) | 219 comments Mod
Hiya Katie :) I know what you mean. I have finally raised my percentage over 45% xD and that's the highest it's ever been!

I hope the group will be able to help you. It has helped me already, 3 ARCs down :) now we just need to find out next month's theme and pick our books. Which reminds me! Please vote in the poll for the theme :)

Hello folks, this group seems fun.

Apparently the group's been around for a while, but I haven't been on Goodreads in ages. I tend to binge post on the website then disappear for a bit, lol. It's super late so I'll have to read through this thread and the others later, but currently I have (maybe?) 40 ARCs spreads out through all the websites. I stopped bothering to count my TBR list ages ago. Just bought 8 books this weekend, whoops (but I spent under $22 altogether. Who says Black Friday is useless?).

Can't wait to see what the December theme might be.

Welcome, Sarabi!! The group's only been active for about two months :) I've also had a pretty good book shopping month, which means my TBR is a little out of control xD but the group has helped immensely with the ARCs! Hope it will help you too :)

I was doing really well on not gaining more books until Black Friday. I hit the Amazon AND Thriftbooks sales. (6 books for $20!!!). Unfortunately, I won't see the Thriftbooks purchases until next summer because I refuse to pay a $25 international shipping fee when I can get free shipping within the US.

Wow, for some reason I didn't find ANYTHING on Amazon on Black Friday. Like, AT ALL. At least in e-books... only the usual daily sales for self-pub books nobody knows.

Kathy Martin (kmartin802) Hi, I'm Kathy. I'm a retired school librarian/media specialist who really got into reviewing a few years ago. I love NetGalley and often use Edelweiss too. Macmillan sends me their YA print ARCs a few times a year. I'll also get a stray ARC or two from a couple of other YA publishers. Being an organized type, I keep a spreadsheet and a Google calendar to help me keep track of what I should be reading. I also do a monthly post on my blog. You can see the latest here.

Hiya! Nice to meet you :)

message 62: by Abi (new)

Abi (booksa144) Hi, I'm Abi. I think I have 10 or so ARCs right now that I haven't read, and at least 5 are probably overdue. It's not that many compared to some people, but I'm hoping I will get motivation to finish the books I have.

Hi all and I'm sorry I didn't welcome you into the group on time :) I hope you are enjoying the reading, and I am about to call April's nominations :)

message 66: by Jordanne (new)

Jordanne (jordannedunn) Hi Everyone!

I took a while to write on here, I'm so glad to hear that other people have as many (and more!) ARCs than I do - I posted something on GR a while ago, a poll to help decide which to read next and it was only a short (less than 10) snippet of my overall list and everyone was like 'That's small?! I'd hate to see your long list!' so I just kinda ... hid. Behind my 'not-all-that-small' pile of ARCS.

As my Excel spreadsheet stands, I have 14 not yet due and 27 overdue. They're all NetGalley eBooks because I'm too scared about how fast the list will grow if I join any more sites.

Thanks!
J

Hi Jordanne :) well, you've come to the right place :) that is definitely small! Over here, we are used to lists more like in the tens :D I know I have around 40 unread ones for sure, maybe more. I would have to consult my State of the ARC posts to be able to tell you that :)

Even though we are not very active in the group here, I would like to invite you to join the said meme - because it's a good way to motivate yourself so read and track your goals monthly. The next one is on April 30 :)

Debbie (debbieslibrary) | 4 comments Hello, my name is Debbie and I need some motivation to read my ARCs and that is why I joined this group. I have a blog on Wordpress and a YouTube channel. As of right now I have:
7 ARCs from Netgalley
1 printed ARC
And that is it, but I do plan to request more ARCs in the near future as well.

Evelina | AvalinahsBooks (avalinahsbooks) | 219 comments Mod
Hiya Debbie, and welcome :) the group is kind of dead xD I didn't even announce the newest theme. BUT! Please join the State of the ARC meme! It will definitely motivate you to mow down your ARCs :) here's the latest one:

And here's the rules page:

I would really REALLY love to see you join it :)

message 70: by Debbie (new)

Debbie (debbieslibrary) | 4 comments Maybe we can revive the group XD
But I will join in the meme.

message 71: by Bec (new)

Bec (_becandbooks) Hello!

I am a book blogger and reviewer and therefore have fallen into the ARC trap. My go to is NetGalley, although I occasionally dabble in Edelweiss (if I'm feeling lucky) and consider author/publisher requests.

Overall, my ARC TBR is pretty small and manageable, but I am participating in State of the ARC in June to get on top of my stack before life jumps in my face in July.

Evelina | AvalinahsBooks (avalinahsbooks) | 219 comments Mod
Welcome Becca :) unfortunately, the group is sort of on hiatus now because I am just too busy with life T_T but the meme is still going! I'm so glad you're participating this month, I will be dropping by to check it out soon :)
