I was leaving a gap for the Summer Cream of rounds, which is what I presumed Duke put those in for.

SussexWelsh | 7448 comments I took 266 but I was also confused by the gap that had been left. Duke says "Cream of" will 5 rounds, but 266-269 would only allow 4. Who knows?

IIRC, Val took 265 which was also an open one. 😉

theDuke | 6491 comments Hi folks. Right sorry for the confusement. I'd thought that there was still 13 weeks left to go before we get to Sunday 26th June, before the Co2020 rounds were to begin. And thus i thought we still needed a few more new theme nominations, to take us up to that date, hence the empty fields (265-269) for folks to fill in.

But I've since realised that i got the wrong month, Sunday 26th actually is in July! It's June the 28th, so there's 9 weeks of themes to play out after my Psychedelic round has concluded.

So..just to sort this out again - I don't bother putting round numbers for Cream of, cos that was never done reviously.

The list should now look like this:

Forthcoming Rounds:

Theme 257 - Duets, real or imagined. Standard duets or songs that have been sung as a solo singer mixed with somebody singing the same song to create a duet. - TheFoe
Theme 258 - The Swinging Sixties 1960-1969 - Jemma
Theme 259 - There's a storm coming: songs by, about or featuring any of the following: Atiyah, Brendan, Ciara, Dennis, Ellen, Francis, Gerda, Hugh, Iris, Jan, Kitty, Liam, Maura, Noah, Olivia, Piet, Róisín, Samir, Tara, Vince, Willow - - Sera
Theme 260 - There's a tropical storm coming: any song or artist's name featuring the words hurricane, typhoon, cyclone, willy-willy (those wacky antipodeans; a singular willy or willie will do) or (not tropical I know but opens up more options) tornado - Brass Neck

Theme 262 - Wildcard Round 10
Theme 263 - My Corona: Any song or artist with a title/name that reflects the Coronavirus pandemic in some way (I've got an absolute belter lined up!).- Fishy Jim
Theme 264 - Feel Good - Any song that is upbeat and likely to make the listener have their spirits raised. - TheFoe

Theme 266 - Freak Out! Uncut magazine's list of 101 "weirdest albums of all time". There's at least one single A-side on the list (step forward 'Scratch'). The reasons for weirdness aren't always evident from the titles alone (although the exceptions should be obvious), and there's one which you'll never find on discogs; the Merzbow at #100 is actually a written-off Mercedes previously the property of his dutch label boss, with a copy of Merzbow's album "Noisembryo" hardwired into the ignition, so it plays when the car is turned on. He tried auctioning this unique item and got zero bids! - Tim https://forums.stevehoffman.tv/thread...
Theme 267 - Great instrumental breaks (must be within a "song") - SussexWelsh
Theme 268 - Let's Stick Together; any song with a word which references a method of sticking one thing to another (join/t, glue, mortar, tie/d, bond, weld, etc ad infinitum) - Brass Neck
Theme 269 - "In The Mood For A Moog" - Songs featuring the Moog synth - theDuke
Theme 270 - "The Happy Organ" - Tracks featuring an organ, the keyboard instrument, of any type. - KJS
Theme 271 - "It's Raining Cats & Dogs" - song titles containing the word(s) cat(s) or dog(s) (or both): state your allegiance if you wish ;-) - Helen

Please can you explain what you are looking for in a nomination for this one? I have no idea what "road trip" music is!
Btw I don't think any of us will be going very far on this jaunt ;-)

Val H. | 22141 comments Everyone's different (as usual) but I was thinking - some drivers, it's all pedal to the metal so something with a driving (i.e. pounding) beat. Other folk in our mini-bus might like a sing-a-long - so something that everyone knows and can sing/hum along to. But mostly something that is optimistic or provides you with a sense of anticipation. You're going somewhere you want to be, perhaps with people you enjoy being with, so you're a bit revved up, the toe is tapping, the head is nodding in time and you know you're going to have a good time. It would be great if the playlist flowed from one track to the next but that may be asking too much..... And then, of course, there's the return journey. Some one will doubtless have over-imbibed and be slurring a mournful "Danny Boy" down the back!

Thanks Val. Umm, better get my thinking cap on for this one then.

theDuke | 6491 comments I find as i get older, i prefer something less hectic to listen to whilst on the 'road', not that get to do much of that these days.

Road music doesn't have to be adrenaline fueled 'Mad Max' stylee choices, it could be something more sedate...more cruise-a-long music, mibbe?

Would some bangin'/brutal techno be appropriate for a road trip? Just thought of a stormin' track. It'll make you drive fast & I'm sure it'll help Lez's headache! 😁

Fishy_Jim | 1287 comments Clarification from Brass Neck, please. Does your 'Let's stick together' round refer just to words in the song, or can they be in the title (I know words in the title are usually in the lyrics, but occasionally this isn't the case)?

Guess I missed out a key word - checking through the entire lyrics for a word which may not be in the title is a kind of ball-ache no-one needs;
