You thin..." Awww thanks Eldon!!! Ditto here :D :D
And yes I did considering splitting it into 2 books, especially once I made the decision to have a 2nd book... and a 3rd... Seriously, probably not a good sign that my characters rule my writing, huh? :P
Anyway. I decided against listening to advice and wrote the long way :) A few reasons.
1. this is really meant to be Viv and Seb's story, told to its fullest, and introducing the other characters on the side; #2 and #3 really get into the meat of the action
2. their romance was something I felt i had to develop, despite the insta-attraction, as well as Vivienne's powers. And, in short, developing the world itself was something I really wanted to take my time with
3. *blanks out* I had more... but seriously drawing a blank here and trying to type as fast as I can lol.
In the end, all of those (and more) combined made it that I preferred shooting out a 600 page (paperback) book, rather than split it into 2. And "majority advice" be ... hmm can you even said the one word that has to do with throwing someone to hell on GR? Oh well. Majority be "darned" LOL is what I told myself.
It was hard because though I'm not a stickler for "rules" or "guidelines" I do believe in listening to others' advice especially when they've been doing something for longer than I have. But in this instance, it was really my own preference, and I really wanted my style and book to speak for itself :)
(if that's the only question you ask, at least I can say I gave a worthy answer hehehehe)

I'm glad you stuck with your gut. I think that always gives better results - well most of the time. Readers should enjoy a work the way the artist intended!

Do you think someone could be a writer if they don’t feel emotions strongly?

Creating worlds and getting lost in them :) Nothing equals the peace and joy that fills me when I write. It doesn't matter what happens at work or in the world, writing is my own way of responding and being me.
The least favorite part... The lack of sleep and weird hours. LOL I haven't quite gotten a handle on "letting go" of a scene, aka just cause it comes in mind it doesn't need to be written NOW. That tends to suck when I wake up at 2am in the morning to let my dogs out, and end up writing for the next hour LOL

Hi..." LOL spoken like a true Martian :P I dunno how you survive

I must be off, but Minx and Eldon can continue. I will check back in later :)

And also... what authors inspire you?

Do you think someone could be a writer if they don’t feel emotions strongly?"
Ouch... That's hard :(
Umm... hmm. *thinks hard*
I think... that yes they could. Writing is not just about feeling emotions, it's about understanding what you're writing. So for example, I wouldn't necessarily write a character that has a child. I know next to nothing about how to raise a child nor the hardships that a parent goes through.
I do, however, know TONS about the hardships of a pet parent lmao and that is something I can incorporate in my books and characters without feeling like I'm blabbing about stuff I know nothing about.
Not to say that you have to be a parent in order to write about being a parent, because I don't fully believe that either. It depends on how comfortable you are with the idea, and if you can truly get into the skin of the character
So, yes I believe a writer can be someone who does not feel emotions strongly. But the quality of their writing will hinge on how much can they get into a characters' skin, while writing.
if that makes sense... I feel like I might be blabbing now :/

Do you think someone could be a writer if they don’t feel emotions strongly?" addition: mind you... I dunno how a writer of steamy romance would write a steamy scene if they've never felt the emotion to that extent lol... Good guesswork? Research? I think they could compensate :)

It was a pleasure, Alexa, and we will speak soon when I send you the review of AD ;)
<3 xox" Thx Cat!!! :) Good luck with the studies! And looking forward to the review!!!!

And al..." You're really making me type a lot today!!!! LOL
I think I take elements from what happens in my life. I've never duplicated a real event into one of my books, but an emotion, yes. I've seen (or felt myself) extreme rage, and that translates well into some of my characters. Sometimes I'll be on the transit and as I'm observing people, someone will do something out of characters that gives me a great idea for a scene or a personality trait, and I jump on that :)
Also, music is very inspiring to me. I usually listen to whatever sounds I need to set the mood. Eg, for a fight I'll listen to rap, for a dramatic scene I'll have some "wolf blood" irish music playing, for a romantic fight I'll have some heartbreak song...
Would I be a complete cheesy indie writer if I say JK Rowling inspires me? Her tenacity and perseverance to do what she loved when no one else would publish her, really inspire me.

Do you think someone could be a writer if they don’t feel emotions strongly?" addition: mind you... I dunno how a write..."
OMG I consider that when I read steamy scenes, then shake my head and try to ignore my thoughts because I seriously don't want to know..lol

LOOOOOL

Do you think someone could be a writer if they don’t feel emotions strongly?"
Ouch... That's hard :(
Umm... hmm. *thi..."
No, I think that the love for someone other than yourself can funnel into any personal relationships you would write for. I had a dog that I loved dearly, seriously I would have cut a b#@ch for messing with her and that is the same i feel for my children EVEN though I never gave birth to them. I love them like I can't even imagine.

Do you think someone could be a writer if they don’t feel emotions strongly?"
Ouch... That's hard :(
Um..."
Yeah I hear you :) when my dogs have been hurt in the past (stupid kennels... twice) I seriously wanted to go on a rampage - and not the funny kind. But I think all these emotions suffuse our writings to some extent or another

Last question. Is there one genre you've never written but always wanted to?
And no shame in admiring JK Rowling... we can all admire that kind of success!!

Exactly! :D I just wanted to know what a writer thought. I think that if someone puts enough thought into a scene and researches what they don't know it can be successful even if they have never lived it. Case in point I have never met a shifter BUT I don't have to meet one to know that I would be freaked out if they shifted from a man to any freeking thing, lol

Cheers!

Last question. Is there one genre you've never written but always wanted to?
And no shame in admiring JK Rowling... we can all admire that kind of success!!" all goooddd :D
Wellllll I've always wanted to write a kid's book with a dog as the main hero, but as per genre, thriller. Never dabbled in it, but I LOVE reading them. The more mind-freaky the better! :D
I don't think I could, if only because I feel my overactive imagination would probably put me in a bad spot. Not writing-wise, but when you start writing about psychos, well. I'd rather keep reading about them instead
Yep :) She truly is something! Though it's sad that everything is forever under the shadow of Harry Potter now. I wouldn't want fame to that extent that nothing else I write can come close. I love besting myself :)

Cheers!" haha no trouble Minx, thanks for joining!!!!

VERY true !! it's when people don't bother researching that crappy scenes are written :P have wonderful night!
Great interview lovely humans! <3 I'll go stalk Alexa everywhere :) and I think we can all agree that we all admire JK Rowling :)

tee hee :D thanks again for having me!!

Awww no worries :) hope you have a nice read of it! If you think of anything you want to ask me, shoot it after I'll still answer hehe :) have a wonderful night Anna, means the world you wanted to be part of it!!

Glad the interview went well.
Just for info; all the best writers will tell you their characters tell their stories. They do take over, and that's fine.
Well, unless they're a dark elf and you have to put him back in his box! He was a terribly difficult chap :(
HI MINX!!! I was wondering where you were ;)"
Hi!! Kids, Life, Dogs..it all got in the way!!"
I hear that 😁
