Gingerlily - The Full Wild | 600 comments 50 is a good start, if we get more coming in that will help. I don't know if 12 can keep it going unless they are all very motivated.

theDuke | 6492 comments Hi GingerLily,

Dunno...I know Apples does suffer from her diabetes so she's sometimes not around when she's ill. Have managed to get hold of another former regular going by the name 4thEarl...he was a regular on the deals forum..lovely chap..he left when we thought Zon was closing things down earlier this year...he says he going to join up...so hopefully that's another one.....just hope ron makes it....he's gonna get a shock this morning. He went to bed around 8.30pm last night....just before Zon locked the place up.

Martin O' | 2196 comments Enjoying being here, it reminds me of when I first discovered the forum sites on 'Zon (a plague on all their houses) - I still use Amazon search engine for buying stuff but try to use other buyers if poss.
There's just something about posting here that has a certain frisson, I feel like one of the Borrowers ensconced behind Amazon's skirting board or a character in William Tenn's novel "Of Men And Monsters".

theDuke | 6492 comments I'm still trying to work out whom some of members are myself, Martin!

Some, like me, have kept their old Zon monikers, but others have created new ones..and some of I guess were regulars on forums I didn't frequent on. Be interesting getting to know everybody though! :-)

Gingerlily - The Full Wild | 600 comments So the forum picture is changed again - picture of the day? Is that barrels of coffee?

theDuke | 6492 comments Well then..let's put the kettle on then! :-)

Coffee folks?

message 311: by [deleted user] (new)

Amazon is really being obnoxious in the way they ended things.

Duke, you need to understand that Linda chose to set up her own mirror version of the Deals Forum on here even though she already knew by then that the Music Forum's Group Forum had been set up - the Deals members like to chat and swap risqué jokes, post up swear words and quirky oneliners with each other and they don't want to join this Forum.

You don't need to do anything with Linda's Group and this one? - just feel free to wander and post between the two of them just like you did on Amazon between Deals and Music ;o>

message 320: by theDuke (last edited Oct 12, 2017 03:45AM) (new)

theDuke | 6492 comments Morning Suzy! :)

Aye..i have been doing just that! Maybe the others on DND will do the same & join this one in time...I was wondering...if you'd miss chatting to those on the other group?

Oh....dunno if this'll do much good....but I left a message on one of Ron's most recent product reviews on Zon....with a link to Apples' group again (cos I think that's where he'd probably want to go, if indeed he does join up at all). I not sure, but I think an email is sent to the reviewer, if a comment is left on a review. I might have that wrong.

Anyway, it was the only think I could think of..so hopefully he'll notice.

4th Earl has been in touch...he says he'll be joining up..so hopefully he'll be back again! Happy days! :)

suzysunshine7 | 16038 comments Gordon, can you edit existing Folder Titles? - only I have just transferred tech's Book Thread over before it disappears forever - and I thought that the best place for it might be with Helen's TV Thread but there is no mention of Books in Folder Title ;o>

message 337: by suzysunshine7 (last edited Oct 12, 2017 08:47AM) (new)

suzysunshine7 | 16038 comments I have also just transferred 'The Music Forum's Movie Recommendations' Thread over and into the Folder of 'TV, cinema, theatre, etc' and tried to make it stand out a little more from the rest by giving it the title of 'Lights! Camera! Action!' ;o>

suzysunshine7 | 16038 comments Sorry Granny, I don't think so? We are almost all off the UK Amazon Forums and mainly off the Music Forum on there as well.

Were you looking for UK Amazon exiles or US Amazon exiles? ;o>

EDIT : I just Googled and found your Forum on the UK Forums and reading through the last page I see you were all talking about coming here and have worked out from your last Posts on there that one of your Members might be here already? I think it could be 'P' ... https://www.goodreads.com/user/show/7... ... ?

If you click on the 'Add as friend' button on their Profile then they will get an Inbox notification and know that you are here and you will also be able to chat in private on here as well as in public ;o>

And if you would like for one of us to help by setting you up with a Group Thread on here then do please let us know as we are all also just starting to get the hang of how everything works on here now and we would be delighted to help you out.

Ohhh good! I really didn't want to tread on anyone's toes by taking it upon myself to transfer over a few of the much loved and well-used Threads onto here - it's just that I tend to have more time on my Hands than most people and wanted to help contribute towards setting up and shaping the Forum as well ;o>

Plus, I am learning more about how everything works as I go along - and am also very aware that, at some time in the next 24 hours, all of the Threads will suddenly disappear without a trace and so we won't be able to Copy & Paste off our lovely old Amazon Threads after that ... (*huge sad sigh*)

I must be one of the few Americans then. It might be better that way, because it's hard not to talk about the crazy politics, for some Americans. I'd rather avoid that stuff.

nocheese | 6824 comments Just had a quick look over on Amazon (can't help myself), and we are all now 'A Customer' - every thread, every post. What on earth is the point of this long, slow death?

message 344: by Granny (new)

Granny | 93 comments I'm from Wisconsin, Suzysunshine7, thank you for helping. We snails from Amazon used the DKSWS page as our chatty forum in the Harry Potter Deathly Hallows forum. We'd been there for 10 years with over 100,000 posts in the DKSWS #1 thread. After that Amazon limited threads to 10,000 posts. We snails need a new shell. I am trying to figure out how Goodreads works. I appreciate your kindness and help here.

Hiyah Juju ;o>

Welcome to Amazon Exiles! - I do hope that you find Threads to interest you on here, but if not, then please don't be too afraid to ask if anyone else is interested in setting up any new Threads - or of asking if one of us will do it for you if you don't know how.

Most of us, including me, are completely new to the Goodreads site and so we are also feeling bewildered and a little lost as we try to find our way to making this Forum more into being our new Home from Home ;o>

Hiyah Granny, and "Welcome!" ;o>

It looks like you already have 'P' here - and so let's hope that the rest of your lovely Group will come and join us on here as well.

Do you want me to set you all up with a Thread now or would you rather wait and see who else from your Group may turn up?
