Val H. | 22143 comments If those are seagulls (anyone for a morning dip?) we should have plenty of guano. Is someone starting a vegie bed?

Gingerlily - The Full Wild | 600 comments Thats a good idea. A gardening thread would have plenty of uses for it all.

suzysunshine7 | 16038 comments I have to go to Bed ... but I've just woken up and realised I needed to switch off my Laptop ... only to see the Official Announcement is up and across all of the Threads on all of the UK Forums too ;o<

This really is it then - and a massive and very heartfelt thanks from me to our lovely Gordon for planning ahead, creating our new Home, and then bringing us all over together onto here ... x x x

Val H. | 22143 comments I just hope we don't lose anyone in the changeover. Where are you nocheese, spacepig, blastro, RedJohn, etc????

Gingerlily - The Full Wild | 600 comments Well I'm all stocked up on camels for the moment, unless someone has a Sopwith lying around. But maybe someone else could use them.

In the words of Humphrey Bogart in 'Casablanca' - 'I was misinformed'.

Long journey, suze. Ferry from Marmari to Rafina, bus to Athens airport, plane to Amsterdam, plane to Glasgow airport, bus to Glasgow Central, another train and finally the last leg, I stagger ashore at Amazon exiles, happy to be home.

Tut. Some people's minds...

Speaking of which, could folks let me know if they want this forum to be open to over-18s only? I quite like the idea of its being (a) reasonably free of swearing and (b) somewhere that people who aren't yet fossilized might want to come, which is why I didn't put an age restriction on. If you have any particular reason for wanting it to be adults-only, please let me know.

message 167: by nocheese (new)

nocheese | 6824 comments I have no reason to wish this forum to be adults only. Got me wondering, though, as a newcomer - is there monitoring on here along the lines of the 'zon police? I do hope not.

No, I don't think there's any monitoring unless someone flags a post as offensive. I assume we're allowed to eat faggots and smoke fags here, not that most of us would want to do either.

message 169: by Sera69 (new)

Sera69 | 1922 comments Yes, age limits please. 18-21 ladies, preferably blonde, pneumatically enhanced with bank balance to match. Apparently there are a great many Russian women I could point in this direction...

Gingerlily - The Full Wild | 600 comments Hang on, I didn't think this was THAT kind of group! And if it is, us ladies want an equivalent supply of men.

message 171: by Craig White (new)

I'd like a Cossack please. Black horse, black cloak, flowing black hair, mmmm.

Gingerlily - The Full Wild | 600 comments A cossack in a cassock...

Gingerlily - The Full Wild | 600 comments I'll have Aragorn, Jon Snow, and Thorin please.

Will the footy threads be here or on another forum page?

Stick with it, MC ... x x x ... I absolutely hated it on here at first - but it's getting an awful lot easier and much more fun now to work it all out and to remember how to find my way around ;o>

Good to see you here!

Gordon (skiiltan) | 2940 comments Duke wrote: "How does one post a picky on here, I can only C&P links of piccy's."

I'm on a tablet at the moment, Duke. I'll post more complete instructions later. If you click on the "(some html is ok)" link at the top right of the message box there is code you can cut & paste to embed an image. It will only work for images that have a URL: you can't post a picture from your own disc drive. It's not easy to do properly, unfortunately.

message 187: by theDuke (new)

theDuke | 6492 comments Ah right, cheers Gordon..I'll give that try soon...ta!

You are missing the '<' at the start

I have added that Ginger...still not working...must be size limit or summin'

message 192: by Gordon (new)

Gordon (skiiltan) | 2940 comments Duke, it's to do with how you're pasting in the image source. I can't post quick instructions here because it turns the URL into a live link and you then can't copy & paste the full address.

If the rest of my trains run on time and I actually manage to get home tonight I can post step-by-step instructions then. I just missed a connection at Stafford, which now means I'll miss my next connection at Wolverhampton. Dontcha love it?

message 193: by theDuke (new)

theDuke | 6492 comments Ah..ain't that a bummer Gordon....

Well don't worry about it....I guess i'll figure it out soon enough.

suzysunshine7 | 16038 comments I just tried an image too but it didn't work out and so I'll be very interested in Gordon's Step By Step Guide too - but only when you have the time and the energy, Gordon. It sadly sounds like you are having a nightmare of a journey home and I hope you make it back safe and well and get to put your Feet up and relax ASAP ... x x x

Gingerlily - The Full Wild | 600 comments I'll try and explain it .

You put {img src="linkylinkylinkylinyklinyk"/}

but instead of the curly brackets put > at the end and < at the beginning .

Lets see if this posts properly.

message 197: by theDuke (new)

theDuke | 6492 comments Ahhhh...I put the img link in from 'some html is ok'...so it's just img src followed by the link url & those sideways chevrons too...right let's see if get this right this time....be back in a mo...

Okay? ... (*EDITED*) ... Nope? - I'm still getting links instead but it doesn't really matter because it looks like links take up far less Thread page room anyway ;o>
