suzysunshine7 | 16038 comments And at the bottom of the Page I found the old Listing for 'More Customer Forums' and I clicked on 'Music' and the Music Forum came up!!! ;o>

There's a lot that is missing and won't come up but it's just SO wonderful to get to see anything of our old Playgrounds once again - I've missed them SO much!!!

Isabella | 1370 comments I've just been having a little taste of what TB has found for us and I'm so happy. Thanks so much, TB :o)

(The pity of it is, the number of different posters was part of the pleasure of the Forums but the nasties helped force an end to all that. It's always easier to break things...)

TwoddleBungler | 4920 comments Note that if you go to a thread and click to go straight to the end or to an intermediate page, you'll get the nasty message but if you click through one page at a time it seems to work.

I'm sure all of those forums are there somewhere.

Yes and if you have Amazon Echo, Google Home or Cortana, they have recordings of what you've said as well.

I'm sure big firms will hire agencies to trawl through and find everything about potential employees. :-O

I'm glad I'm retired.

Thanks for that tip suzy. I hadn't thought of that last bit. I've been experimenting with it myself.

Oops, I think I mucked up the one I put up earlier. I'll sort this out later.

suzysunshine7 | 16038 comments TB, now that you've edited your Post today all I am getting is the usual Amazon Forums Closure Notice. Can you put the other Link back up again, as I didn't think to save it, and I can't remember which Website it was that the Amazon Forums were archived to?

EDIT : Ohhh, it's okay! - I've found it again on a Thread Notification Email in my Deleted Items Folder in my Inbox ;o> ...

http://www.amazon.co.uk/forum/fiction...

... but it isn't working for me now for some reason?

TwoddleBungler | 4920 comments I'll have to go through the original process again. I'll try to do it later today.

Can you tell me what you added to replace fiction when you went to the address bar - which forum were you seeking?

message 1511: by suzysunshine7 (last edited Dec 01, 2018 05:38AM) (new)

suzysunshine7 | 16038 comments Okay, I used the Link that you gave that took us straight to the Fiction Forum and saw the Address at the top of the Page and replaced the word 'fiction' with 'cookery' - and I can't be sure now but I think that I deleted everything after the first Question Mark in the rest of it? - so that I could see if I could find the Cookery Forum.

suzysunshine7 | 16038 comments By the way ... for anyone else interested in trying CBD Oil out? ...

I can't, and won't recommend it, because I've had no personal experience of it - and there is all kinds of Research and plenty of hype out there that claims all sorts about it both working and not working.

What I will say is that, after days of seemingly endless reading up on it, it was mainly the much commented on awful taste that was concerning me the most after so many hours of dithering over it and finally deciding on buying it - as I am planning on giving it to a little hairy woofer in what is my last hope of trying to increase on the length and to also improve on the overall quality too of her Palliative Care.

However, the other day I came across ... https://okcbd.co.uk/ ... and discovered that they were a company in Devon that offer up several different flavours of CBD Oil and so I took a chance on it and bought the Vanilla one. It has got a 20% off Sale on at the moment - it was supposed to only be throughout November but has now been extended to last through until mid December.

The CBD Oil arrived (within just two days of ordering) a couple of hours ago - and I've just tasted it - and it really does taste of Vanilla with only a very slight alcohol aftertaste that isn't at all bitter or unpleasant.

It may, or may not, make any difference whatsoever ... but, if I don't try it, then I'll have to live with never knowing if I could possibly have done more for Tia and so, if only just for that reason, I feel I simply have to give it a go.

Just thought I'd pass the info on in case anyone else was looking into it as well.

Lez | 7490 comments Sorry, I’ve been missing. Really suffering with sciatica and didn’t feel like chatting, but with a great deal of willpower, grim determination and paracetamol, I managed to get out to a neighbourhood celidh last night (no, I don’t dance!) and met some nice people.
Anyway, thanks, Suzy for your email!
Enormous thanks to Twoddle for such sterling work: I’ve got Music, Pop and Classical which I bookmarked and are still working. I can get the Rock forum thread list but can’t access the actual threads, the message being that the URL isn’t archived.
I’m going to give the info to my mates on TalkClassical who have one or two techie types who might be able to get the old .com forums.

Here’s my bookmarked Music:

What ailment does the dog have - is it arthritis?

Here's a shot in the dark which is probably not applicable.

When I got my first dog Jenny I was completely clueless about nutrition. I used to feed both me and her on meat pies. When she was about four I noticed that she was walking stiffly. I took her to the vet and he diagnosed arthritis. Amazingly he didn't ask about Jenny's diet (do they ever?). I can't remember how or why but I decided to improve it myself and stop giving her so much pastry and salt. Within a month she was walking perfectly well and lived to a healthy 16.

Now I know this is 'one of those anecdotal stories' that people always tell but it did seem to work for Jenny.

When Millie (in my avatar) was getting old she had all sorts of digestive problems (involving mopping up after her !) I decided to try the diet approach and someone recommended raw meat. It turns out that dogs can live perfectly well without any carbohydrates at all. Her tummy problems cleared up immediately. This was after months of using Kaolin and all the other vet-prescribed expensive stuff.

So as I say, a shot in the dark. It's always worth thinking about diet for dogs and definitely make sure they don't get a lot of salt or much (if anything) in the way of carbs.

P.S. Finely minced beef can make for a runny tummy. I used to get Millie tough stewing steak chopped into one-inch cubes and feed it raw. That cleaned her teeth and made her eat slower.

Because her diet didn't have a lot of carb filler, her poos were much smaller and much better digested.

suzysunshine7 | 16038 comments No, sadly our darling Tia has recently been diagnosed with Cancer - and she underwent an emergency life-saving (but only a Palliative) Surgery to remove as much as they possibly could of a very rare and aggressive Stage 3 - 4 Melanoma of the Tongue.

We are just hoping and praying right now to still have her with us (still pain-free, and active, and happy enough in herself) through to Christmas and into the New Year.

I'm genuinely not pinning any hopes on all of the miracle claims of CBD Oil - but, as it has virtually no side effects at all to it beyond possibly some drowsiness, it seems that it really can't hurt to at least try it out anyway. I'll also be using it on Mitz too, for other reasons, as she may also get some benefit from taking it.

It took me a while to work out the right dose for them - but then I found this through Google searches and it has proved to be very useful indeed ...

https://holistapet.com/cbd-dosing-cha...

EDIT : Our two both came to us as very sick Rescue Pups that had previously only been fed on a very cheap commercial Dog Food that had only made both of them iller and iller. We spent our first fortnight with them (aged 6 weeks) rushing them back and forth to our Vets for emergency Treatments and binned the Dog Food they were on and put them onto 'Royal Canin Sensitivity Control Diet' Dry and Wet Food instead ... and they loved it and immediately started recovering. They have thrived on it for 10 years now - with the addition of some chopped up cooked Chicken or Lamb Hearts to continue to keep it tasty and interesting ;o>

Yes Millie went with cancer at the back of her throat. It was just before last Christmas. The vet said it had spread and I decided to take the step. I had someone come to the house and was feeding Millie things she was never allowed like chocloate.

I've felt guilty ever since despite the fact that I know it was the best thing to do. She was a rescue with behavioural problems when I got her at 18 months. In the end she had human friends all around town and was well known even in Morrisons where she was allowed to to sit inside the store in a little nook near the door while I was shopping. In B&Q she used to sit on one of the trolleys and I'd wheel her around the store to see Veronica who always had biscuits for her.

suzysunshine7 | 16038 comments Awww, I'm absolutely sure that you did everything possible in always putting your darling Millie first and foremost to the very end - just like we are doing with Tia ... x x x

Tia wasn't even expected to survive the Emergency Op but we had to go for it as, right out of the blue, we discovered she had this Tumour and then that she only had days left to live without Surgery as it was almost completely blocking the back of her Throat.

We have been delighted and astounded by the way that she has recovered from the Op and is back to bouncing about most of time and play-fighting every day with her Sister again. That is why I want to try this CBD Oil out - it may possibly give us more time? - it may not? - but it seems that it really can't hurt her to try it out anyway.

Tia has been on a Soft Diet until a few days ago because of all the Stitches (which have barely troubled her much) but we have kept her on Loxicom anyway to make sure that she gets to sleep well and really is as pain-free as possible during the whole Op healing process.

We don't know for sure if it has spread? - the X-rays looked clear enough on the day of her Op - but I know they often don't tend to show anything until considerable changes have already taken place.

Taking her to the Vets is just such an exhausting nightmare - as she is always terrified to the point of being hysterical. They only managed to calmly and thoroughly get to examine her under a GA before her actual Surgery. They are SO very good with her but she still won't let them come anywhere near her otherwise - I don't know why? - but she has always been like this with everyone else but us.

She gets tired and needs lots of sleep but is still bouncing about in between. However we know only too well that it might suddenly only come down to just having days left with her rather than weeks. Mum and me are taking it in turns to watch over her 24 hours a day - and are going to keep on taking everything as it happens one a day at a time.

Every day is one more precious day to be treasured with her ;o>
