suzysunshine7 | 16038 comments I'm guessing it must have looked like one of these? ...

They look absolutely fabulous! Cartoon Character Cakes were always my most favourite Cakes ever to make. I reckon I must have made at least a hundred of different kinds of Wallace & Gromit ones before the OA finally got too much - LOL! ;o>

Annie | 16 comments Hello fellow homeless folks!
For over a decade I hosted many threads at AMMY's Classic Movies DBs, also contributed over 9400 product reviews. Now with one swift action, like a trapdoor swinging open, all that has ended with a lurch.

I've landed at the DELPHI Amazon Refuge, really high end boards where you can add photos or attachments to your posts, also simply C&P these, change font type, size and color, use bold, italics or underline. A great place.

If you'd care to take a look, I'm hosting the CHATLINE and DISH WASHING threads under GENERAL at that site. I hope these forums and DELPHI's will thrive. AMMY doesn't know what they've lost..

Sign up is easy, just like here: screen name, email and password.

suzysunshine7 | 16038 comments Thank you, Annie ;o>

It was quite a painfully emotional moment when I came to sign up for this Forum after spending so long on the Amazon Forums and so I think I'd just like to find my feet on here first with the Forum folk that I feel like I've come to know very well.

But I will definitely make a note of the other Forums, and take a look around too, when I feel a bit more settled in here and am suffering far less from my Amazon Forums Withdrawal ;o>

theDuke | 6492 comments Is anybody else getting this weird feeling, that bringing everything over from Zon...feels a bit like moving house?! Transferring all the threads, feels like one is lugging a virtual suitcase of accumulated stuff around! lol! Anybody got the keys to the van?!!

suzysunshine7 | 16038 comments My Inbox is certainly filling up with both Amazon and Goodreads notifications now ;o>

Annie | 16 comments Suzy--
You're most welcome!
I would like to make clear that I'm not about subverting these boards; I'm just offering an option with more high tech features, and admittedly, lots of ad banners in between posts that already I have come to not even see.

Annie | 16 comments Duke--
Hi, and you're most welcome!

I've been posting some of my artwork, things I did 40 years ago, at DELPHI, on the CHATLINE, and that's been a lot of fun.

But I'm glad these chats are here, too!

Hi Annie. We're all up in a bit of spin currently, looking for a new home to continue playing our games & music threads...as well the banter too, of course! :)

Sounds like a good idea. Hope you bought a thermos. With SST driving the van he's probably going in circles on the M4. Our "stuff" won't be here for days!

You see, Val;
this is what happens when you get amateurs to do the driving.
Now, a professional like me, I can get lost trying to get out of the yard!

There was something else I meant to tell you..... what was it?.

Oh, yeah - SST is navigating using the hand drawn map I gave him :)

Not just here, Philip.
DELPHI Forums' Amazon Refuge offers some really neat posting features like attachments or photos that can be pasted right into the chat window. Any picture or text you find on the web can be posted, and many of the photos can be clicked on tpo see the original pages they came from.

As an example, I just posted a pic of Morgan Earp, Wyatt's brother. Click on it and you're taken to an article on Morgan.

Hiyah Grizzlygrump! ... x x x ... your Sat Nav got you and your Truck here then? I hope it's packed with lots of Grocery supplies only I haven't managed to find this Forum's Kitchen yet and there's no sign of a single Cake Tin in here either?!!

If Anita hadn't brought us Cake last night then I was seriously planning on packing up again and going over to the Good Food website! - LOL!!! ;o>

Yes, I think it's really wonderful of him to take the time and the effort of putting this together for us all. It's so good to know that we still have somewhere to go online where we know we are always amongst friends and can continue to keep in contact with each other ;o>

You mean you forgot to fill the van up with our gear??!!...Sheesh..can't the staff these days! Looks like it'll be a another night roughing in on the floor.....and there's no hot water on...cos the previous tenant forgot to fill up the gas tank, there's no lightbulbs...cos they were taken out by the aforementioned tenant......and YIKES!...the decor seriously needs a makeover. I didn't know one could get wallpaper like that!

Anyway...there's 20 tons of furniture and personal possessions to shift over from Zon.....so, who's available to lug all that over......hmmm??

Ahhhhh! GG! Got a minute?!

Val H. | 22143 comments I'm still finding my way around this site but I have tell you, it hurts when you read this:

"You can't add a comment because you are not friends."

Sob, sob. Who are you GoodReads to tell me we're not friends?

And David? Is that "our" David, recently back from honeymooning in Venice? He's got 30 friends!!!!! I'm jealous!!!!

message 95: by theDuke (last edited Oct 07, 2017 10:23AM) (new)

theDuke | 6492 comments You need to request a friendship first Val! Or if you're lucky, someone will ask you to be their friend.....like me! :)

message 96: by suzysunshine7 (new)

suzysunshine7 | 16038 comments I'm not quite sure why people need to be friends on here? And, to be honest, I wasn't planning on doing it until I started getting requests from such lovely people that, of course, I want to be and to stay friends with.

But what exactly is it for as a website function on here? Is it to create far more personal and private links between people? Or is it something that was created more to copy just what happens on Social Media such as Facebook and Twitter, etc? ;o>

message 97: by theDuke (new)

theDuke | 6492 comments Yeah, you can send private messages that way, I think.

message 98: by suzysunshine7 (new)

suzysunshine7 | 16038 comments So it is a far more private way to chat on these Forums but out of everyone else's sight ...You see, what is confusing me is I've already chatted to someone in that way who was trying to work out how to set up their Account and then another friend used a completely different way via a Messaging Inbox in my Profile Account that I have now discovered on here as well - so why are there two different ways to make far more private contact with someone? ;o>

message 99: by theDuke (new)

theDuke | 6492 comments Dunno...I guess Goodreads likes to offer flexibility! I haven't found the messaging service.

message 100: by suzysunshine7 (new)

suzysunshine7 | 16038 comments It's at the top right-hand side of the page - the middle button which shows an Envelope on it. Lovebug contacted me that way last night but Jemma used a different way via being friends? ;o>
