Perhaps, realising that one actually wanted to buy some new double glazing!

Martin O' | 2196 comments Some years ago when our children were mere babes in arms I left for work and picked up my carrier bag which contained what I thought were sandwiches, tea bags etc. When I sat down for my break I opened said carrier bag to discover..... several soiled baby nappies therein!

Ohhh Martin! - wasn't the smell of them a bit of a giveaway or does your Lunchbox often also smell that bad?!! ;oO

Blastronaut | 1061 comments I assume it was a full box Suze but it was a long time ago. I wasn't even present at said rumble and only have me mate's word for it, but tho it sounds utterly preposterous, it's just something I wanna believe - the underdog sandwich-box KOs the undisputed champion shovel! : )

message 809: by suzysunshine7 (new)

suzysunshine7 | 16062 comments If someone decides to come at you with a Shovel then only the most unexpected quick response might just stop them in their tracks and I think a sudden defensive retaliation with nothing else but a Lunchbox would certainly qualify as unexpected! - LOL!!! ;o>

message 810: by Blastronaut (new)

Blastronaut | 1061 comments Ha ha, absolutely - I mean, the dude with the shovel's gotta be thinking 'Hmm this guy reckons he can take me with just a lunchbox; obviously not all his dogs are barking!' thus putting the shovel-wielding thug at a disadvantage from the get-go. Nobody wants to fight a psychopath.

No, Suzy, if someone comes at you with a shovel then 'confusion' is your solution. Simply hold up another shovel and ask them to take their pick...

And camels - which I can testify to. Once on a holiday in Tunisia we went on a 2-day 'safari' into the desert and chose a camel ride at the crack of dawn to see the sunrise. Unfortunately my camel decided it wanted to follow closely behind the rear quarters of its pal that had a dose of the Saharan Squits. Its tail conveniently soaked up everything being emitted like a soggy rag, and when it swished said tail, anyone in close proximity (ie, me) got splattered in a noxious soup. That was the ride from hell and my own camel only wanted to listen to a Tunisian voice that it knew fed it.

Gingerlily - The Full Wild | 600 comments And while they are trying to work that one out some creeps up behind them and downs them with a monster pickle. Nifty!

Craig White | 6727 comments blastro, are we talking 'linford christie' type lunchbox?

message 817: by Blastronaut (new)

Blastronaut | 1061 comments Ha ha, I think we're talking the standard food carrying lunchbox here Craig, tho I suppose it coulda been; I mean he never went into too much detail when telling his tale (oooh-err). I never had reason to try to have a peek at his 'Christie Lunchbox' but I guess if it was scary enough, then that could indeed have frightened the shovel fella away without a blow (oh dear) being dealt. : )

suzysunshine7 | 16062 comments I really don't get the sheer thrill of anyone climbing Everest anymore? I used to when I was much younger and far more naïve about the actual reality of the place - but it isn't just the many tonnes of rubbish that have been left scattered all about that puts me off.

It is now little more than an arduously challenging uphill trek through an open air Morgue with it having so many bodies left on it now - and I really don't get the appeal of having to climb around exposed bodies in their various stages of decomposition that are used now as geographical mountain markers? It must surely be such a depressingly bleak place to be?

Perhaps they should also insist on every Climber making some determined effort to also move a body a little way down each time until they have successfully managed to bring as many of them as they can down to a level where they can be far more respectfully taken care of. Even if the dead wanted their resting place to be there where they died they should at least be moved to a place where their bodies can be buried and not left in plain sight on the Mountain for all to see (and even get to take photographs of!) over the years ;o<

Martin O' | 2196 comments There is no you and me, there is only us and we. On a quantum level all is one and one is everything that there is, any perception of difference is false. We are two faces of a collective, unified whole that are reflected onto the prism of what we perceive as a subjective reality that appear to be seperate and individual moments in time.
