I read this probably five years ago but I think it was fairly old then. It was the story of a boy who was the son of a witch that is burned at the stake. He goes on to become a powerful wizard that conquers much, but after a while gets bored. He looks into the future to see if there is anything worth living for and sees a beautiful woman that he knows he will marry. He becomes her teacher as an old man, then when she is of age transforms into his younger appearance. He is attacked by other wizards and has a war with them.
Marc, would you consider this a YA book or aimed more at adults? Do you know if it was standalone or part of a series? Remember anything about the cover, or how long the book was (thin, medium, epic)?
I think it was not in the YA area, but there was nothing offensive that I recall. I believe it was a standalone novel. The book as I recall was large, about 600 pages.
