Personally, since Puzo only wrote one Godfather book, I don't consider it a series.

His research on the Mafia led to him writing other Mafia-related books. In publication order: The Sicilian, The Last Don, Omerta.

The Family was finished by another author after his death.

The later/posthumous "Godfather" books are written by others.

Thank you for your reply! I just read The Family Corleone and I could not put it down. Even though I have seen the Godfather movies, I am going to now read all the books! I think it is so interesting that other writers have went and done prequels and sequels to this classic. It just makes it that much more interesting and fun to read!!!
