It's monthly strategy checkup time! Are you reading this month's book, and if so how are you going about it? Whether it's grabbing an e-book before bed, listening to an audio version on the way to work, or borrowing a library copy to read at a picnic table, share your planned method of consumption here, or ask for advice from those who have already started.

I have had a copy of this sitting on my bookshelf for years, so now I'm finally going to read it. There's a classics read-a-thon next week, so I'm going to try to just power through the whole thing during that week.

It's funny how some books can just linger there for months.
Where is this classic read-a-thon? Is this a thing in your area, or an internet activity?
Beth wrote: "Struggling to get through 2 other books right now. Going to pass on this one."I'm with you. Plus, it seems we just read a modern classic.

It's an internet activity with another Goodread's group called #AYearAThon. It's run by four BookTubers who host one themed read-a-thon every month, and July is classics.
The group is open to anyone if you want to join.
I borrowed my copy from library, at the moment I'm trying to find inspiration to read it, it is finally sunny day here.
I have been meaning to read this for a couple of years, so I bought a copy when I saw that the group would be reading it. Got a few pages in and it all started to seem vaguely familiar...I guess I did in fact read it when it first came out! LOL. But my memory for books is about 5 years -- after that they are buried under memories of other books. So I'm enjoying this re-read.

It sounds interesting, but I think I am far too stupid to pull off two jobs and two book clubs at the same time. It might be good info for our readers but not tubers, though so it's good to know.

I wanna do other thing then, but I guess I'm not very interesting. My copy has authors bio in the first page and it was really depressing, hah. I try and it's gonna rain soon anyway.
Like Crystal, I have also had this novel sitting on my bookshelf for a few years. I'm about halfway through it (since I've had time to read it at work), and feel happy about finally getting around to reading it.
Let's start discussing!!!! Is anyone reading this yet? I finished and want to talk about it before I forget the details :-)

Lucky me, my wife is a College Library Manager, so I've got a library book copy. I am about halfway through the book. Enjoying!
I am brand new but an avid reader. I got the book of the month from the library. I hope I can keep up !

"Anna Karenina" took me a week longer than I expected because I just couldn't get it into my skull. The threads commonly see new comments for a week or so after we're officially done with a book, and there is always someone doing a personal ketchup and mustard challenge somewhere.

Somewhere over Ohio it began sounding awfully familiar... Sure enough I had also read it before. This is part of the reason I joined Goodreads - to keep track of what I've read since my memory is obviously not helping on that score. I chose not to read it a third time this month - it was a really busy month. I'm looking forward to Treasure Island though - I've got the audio set to go as soon as I finish the audio version of The Book Thief.
