Description:

Part 1 of request is done https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/3...

Part 2 done.

Question for a more experience librarian: Do we create a "series" when a book is split up like that? answered in msg 3

Part 3 done see msg 4

message 3: by lethe (new)

lethe | 13731 comments Yes, that is allowed to keep all the parts linked together.

Halvor (Raknes) | 4772 comments If that is the correct way of doing it, then can you merge these two series into that big one also?

https://www.goodreads.com/series/1995...

and

https://www.goodreads.com/series/2161...

If we found another series that separated Shogun into 4 parts we could combine them. Have to combine equals. These are not equals.

1st one is 2 parts, 2nd one is 5 parts and a different book.
oh wait u mean into the big one. like you said. sorry, let me look

Renske | 10805 comments From the other request there is also series made for the split editions of an other work of the series https://www.goodreads.com/series/2161...
I don't know if the other works are also split for the Norwegian editions, but I'm not sure if the best way is to create for each work a separate series for the split editions.

One option could be to create a single series for the Norwegian split editions, the same way it is done for several different split editions of the Harry Potter books.

I like that. If they are all contained in a series there would be no need for individual book split series which seems over the top. A rule would be nice though so it was consistent and reliable.

CurlyFro (curlyfro89) | 4 comments Please combine these:

https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/3...

P.S. Same story different titles because of the region they're published in.

will do. done

Please don't use a thread that is off topic.
This folder is for series.

You can use a general "please combine" thread, or start a new thread in folder "Book Issues".

A single rule would be difficult, because the other option is to add split editions as non-primary works to the main series, but with the number of books in this case I don't think it is the best way for this case.

Norwegian editions removed from original series and a link added to bottom of desc saying: See the Norwegian language editions here: https://www.goodreads.com/series/2163... (the link isn't added to the HP ones so maybe I should remove this)

Asian Saga: Pub order https://www.goodreads.com/series/7177...
Asian Saga: Chrono order https://www.goodreads.com/series/1218...

That is what you want/suggest?
