Oh no, that sucks! So glad you’re feeling better today!

Elyse (winesaboutbooks) | 2454 comments Hello out there! I just created my sign-up post for April 30 in my personal Readathon/Challenge group! I hope the pre-readathon challenges start soon and I hope they bring the board game back!

message 759: by Susan (new)

Susan | 986 comments Is it that time again already? Yay! I hope they bring those back, too, unless they have some new, exciting game ideas ;)

message 760: by Leni (new)

Leni Iversen (leniverse) | 566 comments Yesss, Jamie did mention wanting to do a new version of the boardgame. Fingers crossed. And bring on the warm up challenges!

message 761: by Elizabeth (new)

Elizabeth | 316 comments I'm so ready for warm up challenges! I'm embarrassed to say I've been checking in for weeks even though I know it's still early. I loved the board game; that may have been my favorite warm up ever.

Elyse (winesaboutbooks) | 2454 comments My one goal tonight, okay two goals tonight, are to make my veggie tray and finish reading Red Dragon (Hannibal Lecter, #1) by Thomas Harris . BUT I am so exhausted, having accidentally been woken up (partner snoring) at 4:15am. So we'll see if I get Red Dragon done. And maybe I'll scrape together a TBR because I *did* go to the library yesterday.

Elyse (winesaboutbooks) | 2454 comments I've been pretty constant on Instagram (http://www.instagram.com/winesaboutbooks) but have pretty much avoided Goodreads. It gets a bit overwhelming now. I had to stop all notifications and then slowly add the ones I wanted back in. We're nearing the halfway mark already and it's wild how quickly the first half goes!
I'm not going to get into any sort of totals right now, this is just a quick check-in and break.
I finished The Three Mrs. Wrights by Linda Keir Red Dragon (Hannibal Lecter, #1) by Thomas Harris (both started prior to the 'thon)
I read completely Laughing at My Nightmare by Shane Burcaw
I'm about to finish Dissonance by Erica O'Rourke (also started prior to the 'thon) and that will wrap up my April books.
Then I'm thinking I'll be able to read Nettle & Bone by T. Kingfisher while still in April as I hate to carry books over into the next month! If I *do* finish it and *don't* go to sleep, I have some short graphic novels to blaze through before it turns May!

Happy reading all and I will catch up again at the end!

message 786: by Leni (new)

Leni Iversen (leniverse) | 566 comments I used to hate carrying books over, because I kept monthly reading logs. Nowadays I don't even remember to list all my reads on goodreads. :P I kind of miss the journaling, but it's also nice to not have the stress of it. Not sure how many hours you have left of April (I've technically been in May for two hours already), but I hope you get through your April books. lol Enjoy the rest of the readathon. (And it's not really May until you've been to sleep and wake up again.)

message 788: by Susy (new)

Susy (susysstories) | 2288 comments I hate carrying books over as well, it was a little over midnight when I finished mine, which I think is good enough right? So I'll count them as April reads.

Looks like you're having an awesome readathon! I've been checking your posts on IG. I'm posting there too, as well as here on GR, on Twitter and on FB. But I have a selected time I spent on social media (while listening to my audiobook) so that's doable.

message 789: by Susan (new)

Susan | 678 comments Elyse, Leni & Susy - agree with not liking carrying over books to the next month! It's always nice to start with a clean slate for the month but many times it just doesn't happen for me. And that's ok!

I've let it happen where they're big books but if they're less than 400 pages, I will finish that sucker before the month ends! lol. And I only ended up reading 21 pages of Nettle & Bone so I'm counting for May anyway. It all worked out. lol

Absolutely counts! If I have less than 100 pages, I count it towards the previous month. If I haven't even read 100 pages, like Nettle & Bone only managed 21 pages, I count it towards the next month.

Girl, you kept yourself busy posting on all socials! Wow!

Yes, it's so refreshing to start out with new reads in a new month. Occasionally it happens where I have too much of the book left and whatever, but I try not to make a habit of it. lol

Nope! I slept! Almost 7 hours. No regrets, I needed it. lol

Jennifer | 451 comments I agree, I think sleep is absolutely necessary! Sounds like you had a great readathon! Now time to rest.

Comments:
I slept a normal night's sleep. I needed it and I'm not mad. I *only* physically read for this readathon which is surprising. Juuuuust under 1,000 pages! I went by my actual books' page counts because Goodreads is wrong on 2 of them. So I could have been over 1,000 if I used Goodreads' numbers but I wanted to be honest with myself and 997 is no slouch! Hope everyone had fun! See you in August for the Reverse!

Leni Iversen (leniverse) | 566 comments That's a great result! I got about five hours sleep plus a couple of breaks. I should tally up my pages too. The kids kept track as they read, but I wasn't that organised this time. And converting audio to pages is a pain if you don't use the whole book! Maybe I'll have a nap first. lol

Well done, Elyse!

Lol, indeed I did. Next year I’ll be on social media less probably as I don’t want to do social media and listen to my audiobook at the same time!
