Finished up my stack of graphic novels (but I do always have more!) Succumbed to sleep at 3am. My next check-in will be in 1 hour 15 minutes!

They are wonderful for readathons! Whether you need a pick-me-up at the beginning, middle, or end, the shortness and illustrations are a good distraction.

1) What are you reading right now?

2) How many books have you read so far?
4 - all graphic novels
3) What book are you most looking forward to for the second half of the Read-a-thon?

4) Have you had many interruptions? How did you deal with those?
Tired. I dealt with it by sleeping. :)
5) What surprises you most about the Read-a-thon, so far?
Every time, how quickly time passes!

Did the Hour 12 reading sprint and read 59 pages of Dove Alight. Mostly listened to This is Just My Face. It takes a long time to check in on Goodreads! lol. But I still feel good so power on! Going to go back to This Is My America now.

A heavy block of audio. A lot of Goodreads checking in this block! Also started the crockpot for the pulled pork at 10am so it will be ready between 5-6pm. Not as much reading as I wanted but I *will* be reading during the next block!

I like how active you are on Goodreads! You're such a cheerleader!

Thanks Juli! It's half the fun seeing what other book lovers are reading and doing!

So jealous of your DD iced mocha, sounds delicious!
You've been crushing it so far, especially getting through a good stack of graphic novels. :) You are so right on the length it takes to check in though lol. I also switch an audiobook on, thinking it'll be like 10 minutes max and next thing I know its already almost an hour gone!
and YUM to that crock pot pulled pork. You are crushing your food decisions this round!

Ended up finishing my audiobook (This Is Just My Face) and probably won't start another one. I can't believe there's only 4 hours left! I feel like this 'thon went by SUPER fast. Faster than normal. lol. Hoping to finish This Is My America! Did Hour 18 reading sprint and read 63 pages of Dove Alight.

My iced mocha coffee was delicious but got me very jittery! lol. I had to eat more to calm myself down. The smell coming from the crockpot is amazing and I can't wait to eat pulled pork in an hour!

I participated in Hour 24 reading sprint and read 75 pages of This Is My America. It's also the only book I read in the final 4 hours. I'm 83% through and screw it, I'm finishing it tonight. It's really good.
I also changed up my check-ins, my stats weren't jiving so I re-did them so they only reflect what was happening in each 4-hour block because I realized my food was block-specific but I was tallying my total 'thon stats. No one may have noticed but it irked me. lol.
Wrap-up to come after a full night's rest! And I'll fill out my BINGO board.
Closing Survey
1) How would you assess your reading overall?
I did well, more importantly, I enjoyed myself.
2) Did you have a strategy, and if so, did you stick to it?
Nope! But I did stick to my randomly generated reading order so that was cool!
3) What was your favorite snack?
Everything. Food is good. lol.
4) Wanna volunteer for our next event?
Possibly! We'll see what happens as we get closer to October 24!

You had an amazing read this time. Congrats!

Great job! I'm really impressed that you can keep stats down to the minute! I'm a single mom, so I read with a kid in tow. I'd end up spending the entire readathon clicking start and stop on the stop watch rather than actually reading, lol, so I just estimate to the nearest hour and call it good enough.

Oooh, I like your idea (and chuckled at "Kingtober" :) I should think about doing the same thing with The Stand. It's been sitting on my shelves for ages - all 'complete and uncut' 1141 pages!

I read The Stand last year. Took me 51 days between the paperback and e-book. Complete and uncut. Yup. It's a doozy!! lol.

I want to read It this month too! Doubt I'll finish it in a month, but I'm gonna try!

Bit surprised you didn't already read IT back when the new film adaptation came out.

lol. I'm not a die-hard read the book before the movie girl. I have seen the new movies (and the amazing Tim Curry miniseries). But I do know more goes on in the book.
Good to see you're back. I might this time read King. I've gotMisery in my bookcase, reminding me that it wants to be read :)

I was stalled for a bit, still in a bit of a reading slump, but now I'm about 200 pages in. King is amazing at character development, holy moly.

Agreed. I'm taking my time. And skipping all of the pre-readathon challenges this time around. I don't need a challenge right now, I just want to read my books! lol.

I have 4 Hoopla borrows that return on 10/25 so those are my main focuses:

I'd like to listen to

And of course I'm reading

I'm making chicken noodle soup tomorrow so that will be on the supper menu for Saturday. Otherwise it's just whatever snacks are in the house, I'm not making a special trip the grocery store, I only go a couple times a month now.

Happy " just reading.... ," Elyse !

I think the pre-readathon wiped me out for the bingo lol. I might to a few hourly challenges (or whatever we get this year) and maybe some of the instagram challenge but main focus will be reading. I am trying to be more social today and then back when it is over, but might a bit during...Who knows lol. No pressures.
I hope you get some amazing reading time in.
As for shopping, I get it. I've been limiting trips myself lately and let us get really low and refused to go until last night. Haha! So now I have all the options! Although no special trips. Just whatever I could get at one store and making it work!
