Self editing; hm...I wonder if this is a realistic quest to begin with.

To step away from your story, leaving behind your characters, almost betray them, abandon them, and for what? For a remote, objective view? Unless the writer has split personality or a moment of acute psych episode:-) there is no way to place the editor hat, without kicking the writer's hat. speaking for myself, of course, that never works for me no matter how I tried....the mind has its own life.

The only time I was able to kill the Writer was during my sleep: but once awake, the Editor was gone and back came the Writer:-).

With all that said, after great Editor, my goal is to hire Penny Sansevieri :-) But to do that, I first need to sell Many Many book, to have enough funds to hire penny...

Aha...I think I got it right....so where was I? First kill the Writer, then Hire Editor( You), then publish your book( 10k), then hire PR(5K+) to promote the book and maybe get on the best seller on a local newspaper

Melissa (lemonstargirl) I completely agree, it's painfully hard to swap Editor/Writer hats. Although I'm an editor, my writing always gets seen by several pairs of eyes before the piece greets the world - as a writer, you're just too close to the story to truly give it the thorough, fine-toothed comb edit that it deserves.

Anna Aizic (annaaizic) | 2 comments Hi Melissa, nice to meet you here.

Feel free to visit my book at Amazon to read free sample- 20% of my book; would love to hear your feedback. I thought it is only fair to give a Free reading sample of my book before the reader decides to buy my book or not.

There were few times I loved the cover, the writer, the editor....but the book I purchased did not do it for me:-) So I decided first to give Free sample of my book for the reader to see if the book is pulling him/her in...:-)
