What life did Patricia choose? Which would you choose?

Susan I think Patricia would choose a better world over her own personal happiness. For myself, I don't know. Right now I think the world is still here because I made such lousy choices in my life.

Arun K It all depends on who is actually making the choice. If we really assume that Patricia makes a choice between Trish and Pat then we are actually given a third intersecting reality in which Patricia is more real than Trish or Pat at the moment.

I know it's all more complicated than my little brain can fathom. I was just looking for the choice of good for oneself or good for everyone.

R.M. Honestly, I liked the kids in the Trish version way more than I did Pat's kids. And if she were making a decision based on the children, I'd gone with Doug, Helen, George, and the one daughter I didn't like.

Susan It is interesting that the offspring of the tradition "repressed" upbringing were more likable.

R.M. I find that to be true with a lot of people in life. Sometimes the tougher they have it, the more they sympathize. Plus, Trish's kids loved their mother so much for what they saw. I had a similar upbringing where I had to see my mom put up with a lot. Made me more loving towards her and the sacrifices she made for us. Pat's kids were a tad spoiled.

Susan I have found that,too.

I think she should have chosen her best life, where she falls in love with an amazing person, is a successful writer and has loving children. From what she had to go through in the other life, I'd say she deserves a good life, even if Bee dies in the end.
