I offer editing at 0.003/per word and will do the first chapter free so you can get a feel for the way I work. Let me know if you have any questions, I can give you testimonials of people I've worked with before if you would like.
Jessie

Thanks for realizing that editors have to eat! :) I offer critiques, developmental edits, and line edits to help improve plot, characters, setting, voice, and writing quality.
Here are the details on my low-cost critique service:
Do you need detailed feedback on your current manuscript but have a tighter budget to work with? If so, my critique service is perfect for you!
I’ll provide comments in the margin with a focus on:
Plot
Characters
Setting & World Building
Voice & Writing Quality
In general, I won’t make line edits except in the case of suggestions that are easier to show than explain. This’ll take one to three weeks. Once finished, I’ll return your manuscript along with a one to two page editorial letter, which will provide further detail. You’ll also receive my Grammar Guide and an invitation to a private writer support group on Facebook.
This edit does not focus on basic errors or grammar, though the Grammar Guide will note issues I saw consistently and explain how to remedy them.
Two payment options: half now and half upon completion or pay $100 per month until you’re done. Super simple!
Cost: $0.003 per word or $30/hour for projects 15k words & below
Feel free to send your first chapter to tiffany@owlediting.com for a sample edit of 1500 words. More details, including discounts and client testimonials, are on my website www.owlediting.com.
**My favorite client testimonial: “…Tiffany has an incredible attention to detail, which helped to strengthen my story in ways I had never thought of. Her advice on grammar usage, pacing, plot, and character development was truly invaluable. I can honestly say that hiring Tiffany was the best thing I did while publishing my novel.” – Jonathan Olivier, author of Between the Levees**
If we end up not being a good match, I understand and wish you much luck on your writing journey!
Tiffany

If only we didn't have to charge authors for editing, but it's a necessary evil!
A little about me:
My name is Maya Berger and I am a professional copy-editor and proofreader with over 12 years of experience in the publishing industry. I am an experienced editor of American, British and Canadian English and a member of the UK Society for Editors and Proofreaders. I strongly believe that editing works best when there is close collaboration and mutual respect between author and editor.
My rates vary depending on the project length, the extent of editing/proofreading required, and the project timeline, but as a guide I charge:
Developmental editing = £0.024–£0.03 per word
Copy-editing = £0.017–£0.025 per word
Line editing or proofreading = £0.012–£0.016 per word
Multi-book and student discounts are also available. Please note that rates are in £ as I currently live in the UK, but I can also provide quotes in US$ and other currencies if that's easier.
For further details of my qualifications, experience and areas of specialization please check out my website: www.whatimeantosay.com.
Kind regards,
Maya

Which type of editing are you looking for? I do all three types. My prices vary by negotiation, but typically, copy editing is $0.008 per word, line editing is $0.01 per word, and developmental editing is $0.012 per word. If you buy two different types of editing, I discount it. I'm willing to do a free sample edit of the first 2k words. I'm an editorial intern with Filles Vertes Publishing.
