J.J. Jorgens | 7 comments I would value comments on this attempt for the third of my Mary Jane Morris Mystery series.
Out of the Darkness . A Mary Jane Morris Mystery.
Is this the end for Mary Jane Morris? What will the talented detective do if, afflicted with a wounded leg, blindness, and amnesia, she faces the end of her profession?
Mary Jane comes back from life-threatening injuries to take on mysteries that are two and a half centuries apart. What are Russian spies doing in a small town on the Chesapeake Bay? What happened between George Washington and Benedict Arnold, the hero and the traitor, during the Revolutionary War? Others have found plausible answers for both. They just don't happen to be true.
We all read that Russian spies were evicted from their Chesapeake Bay compound by the President in late 2016 for interfering in American elections, spreading fake news and hacking into computers. Right? Then why are they there again, making suspicious boat trips, and diving on a wreck in the Chester River?
Everybody knows about Benedict Arnold, the general who betrayed George Washington and the colonial army and switched to the British side. He was the traitor who tried to give fort at West Point over to the British, and led British troops in an attack on Richmond. Right? But what if it isn’t true? What if letters from the time tell a whole other story, one that will force a re-write of the history books?
Mary Jane, her black Lab, and her roommate’s teenager Jackson disappear to Bay country when sinister Russian agents come calling. But intending to escape the Russians, she accidentally winds up next door, maybe the last place they would look for her. But it won't be long.

Are there links between the Russians and what happened in the past with Washington and Arnold? Maybe you could rephrase it and tighten up your description using something along those lines.

J.J. Jorgens | 7 comments Yes. I will work on expressing the link without giving away the store.

Thanks,
