Finding good resources

So to me one really important thing before writing or reviewing anything is doing a solid research. And here is a question - what to use, which sources are trustworthy and how to find a good base of texts. I've been using different search engines and corpuses, from which the totally open access has only Paperity, which by the way I think is a brilliant initiative ( http://paperity.org/ ) . Any thoughts on the subject?
