Well-done character building in the first several paragraphs and hinting at the story universe! Even the secondary character, Sonia's grandma, has great "character" too.

(Side note: In many cases in those paragraphs, I could kind of guess at what was being more or less implied, especially Grandma. At any rate, there's always google translate, which I did use in my quick read. ^_^)
