Marie | 4033 comments There were a lot of unanswered questions and even though it was a pretty good book, I would think it would need a second book to tie up loose ends.

I know that after my original read, I went back and re-read a lot of the sections to clarify a few things. :)

I guess then I will have to do another re-read and do it more slowly. Thanks for the tip, Kimberly. :)

LOL! I actually LOVE that "not quite sure" feeling... So many books give away "too" much and leave nothing to the imagination.

If you don't mind my asking, what things were cleared up for you on a second read that you missed the first time?

Laurie (barksbooks) (barklesswagmore) | 1471 comments I'm probably too lazy to read it again but I probably should :)

Just a couple of POV things really. ( "Who said that?") Where I got a few details mixed up.

Michael Hicks (michaelpatrickhicks) | 989 comments I enjoyed this one quite a bit and liked the unreliability of our narrators. There's a lot more happening here than ever makes it onto the page, I think. Maybe next year I'll give it another read and see what else I can pick apart. I do like (view spoiler).

Either way, I liked it and the uncertainty baked into the narrative has given me a lot to consider.

If done well, the "unreliable narrator" is great for getting you to start thinking up all kinds possible scenarios--sometimes more fun than just having the information "given" to you.

Nichole Perani | 5 comments I enjoyed this book, and it was a quick read. But, I do have to go back and reread a few sections because I did have a few questions at the end.

Katy Mann | 988 comments A lot going on in this one. And the final few chapters were so creepy...

The uncertainty and the final vision of the the trick-or-treating children...

So who was up to what? Mwah-ha-ha.

Jessie | 151 comments I am at 46% right now and having a hard time really getting into it. I will finish it but I keep finding other things to do than read. The book just isn't grabbing me like I hoped. Perhaps the last half will be better.....

message 63: by Tattooed Horror (new)

Tattooed Horror Reader (tattooedreader13) Finished it up today...overall, I didn't like this book, but felt a need to finish it anyway. I liked the slightly off kitler feeling it produced and the growing anxiety. I didn't like the sudden addition of gore. It seemed a bit out of left field, over the top.

Definitely not my favorite Halloween read...but I think I'm glad that I pushed through to the end...
