(view spoiler)[ I have a feeling it's going to take me a while to get used with the writing. Geralt seems interesting but a bit stiff. His type is not exactly my style of character. Luckily, I am not disturbed by this.
The striga part was exciting to read - didn't expect the bite, though. I am wondering if he is really a good guy because I get funny vibes from him.

I wonder if the whole book will be like this - different stories or 'cases' that Geralt resolves.
After reading the one with the striga I thought those characters would be part of the whole novel, not just one chapter. I liked that story line. But the next one was good too.

Netflix :) It's confusing as heck, hence why I'm reading the books, but apparently it still doesn't make sense. You apparently just need to watch the whole season and then it'll make sense. So I'm going to do that and then rewatch the whole show. I already watch each episode twice XD

My friend who's read the books said the show was still confusing and includes stuff not mentioned in the books, and my other friend who's played the games and watched the show said it was confusing, so either way the show's confusing. I just hope it pulls together enough for me to understand it at the end so I can piece it together during my rewatch

Yeah I'm not too sure either. I think I'm going to put a pause on this book, at least until I've finished the show, so I can try and keep them separate. I thought it'd help me connect more dots, but it's making me more confused. I'd rather just focus on the show and do bits of research here and there

That might be nice. I’m only at 19% and have been forcing myself through it. This way we can read at our own paces if we choose.

I think that it is because Geralt doesn't age like everyone else. He always appears young. They could have made it more clear in the show if things were taking place in the present, future, or past.

40% (view spoiler)[I think that I liked this story best so far. I liked the overall Snow White story retelling or reimagining that was present in the story. Perhaps even a Rapunzel reference when the wizard mentioned the girl in the tower getting saved by a prince. I am still unclear as to why the wizard thought that girls born at a certain time were monsters. And all the talk of autopsies was creepy. I thought that it was crappy that Geralt was banished from Blavekin when he was only defending himself and preventing them from killing other people. I also really liked the voice of reason chapter that fell after A Lesser Evil. It gave a lot of backstory which I have been so curious about. While it gave some insight into Geralt and his origins, it still leaves me with questions. (hide spoiler)]

I kind of felt sorry for the elves, being driven from their home and forced to live in the mountains. I liked how Geralt was honest with them while still letting his mood show. Torque was adorable. Or how he knew that Yennefer was a hunchback prior to becoming a sorceress just by looking in her eyes. Overall, I really liked all of the stories in this collection. I liked getting to know Geralt and his friends along the way. I also really liked the Voice of Reason chapters. I was kind of confused about what happened to Iola at the end of the book though.
