Kaleb In this book there is four main characters. Conor, the boy who has been going through a terrible point in his life. The mother who tries to stay strong during these times. The caring grandmother. Then of course the monster who is called to Conor. There is also some others in the book that didn’t help his life in any way. Conor has problems in his life such as not fitting in at school, problems at home, and trying to stay brave for his mother, father, and grandmother. Through these times the monster came to Conor. The monster was looking to help Conor but he never seemed to know how he was helping. After the monster came over and over again he was getting close to what the monster wanted to hear all along. He wants to find out the truth of Conor. You get to find the strength of Conor in this book along with his hurt. This book will connect to you in ways most personal to your life. The heartbreak, the happiness, and the strength it takes to survive in this world will connect to you like no other. In many ways you’ll see how Conor will figure out his truth, then when the times right, he will accept it.
My experience with the book was amazing. I am someone who can get quite bored with books in general, but with this book I had a hard time putting it down. In my opinion it was a great book to read do to its amazing story/plot. There was so much sadness and emotion in this book that I always wanted to know what was going to happen next. Every chapter seem to be a great new adventure in conor’s life that you could read for yourself. You really got to find out more about Conor and got to know him like he was already apart of your life. Much of the time was spent in this book going between one day to the next to find more about how he was surviving. The monster in the book was truly outstanding on how it was played out. The monster played one of the more important roles in this book which made him so important. You got to read about the growing relationship with the monster and Conor. Between the two you will read about the bad times and the good times but how powerful they were together at the end of it all. With a book like this you can start predicting what will happen with the little bits of information you get in the start of the book to get an idea of how the outcome will be. I truly recommend this book as a short read for anyone. It is a great book and I would happily read again someday.
