Emalee Hibson | 1 comments Please help!! I found this book when I was 14 in 2004, I believe it could have been published in the 80's from what I can remember. It was an older book with yellowed pages and older style cover art (don't remember details).

The female lead starts in our world and I believe ends up on a frozen lake falls through and wakes in a magical world. She has red hair and a scar on her chest which gets her special treatment. She befriends these children like people and discovers they are much older when they are having sex. She also befriends the prince. And they fall in love. He also has red hair and a scar on his chest. So if I remember that makes you royal? The children like creatures turn out to be outcasts of this society and the leader of them actually has red hair too and is actually the older brother of the prince. One of the children like characters is called Brownie. That is either a name or they are brownies, I can't remember! This is the extent of my memory I lost the book as I owned it and have been trying to find answers for awhile so I can buy it again!
