Kim | 31 comments The paperback edition for the Highwayman by Craig Johnson has no page count. The ISBN is 9780735220904 and the page count is 206.

Thanks.

Empress (the_empress) Worldcat says 190. Can you advise what content is on the last 16 pages?

What do you mean with title pages and reviews? Are they for this book, or for other books?

Agreed. (Title pages appearing at the end of the book sounded very strange to me.)

(So I take it the going to sleep again didn't work then :-( )

I'll take 190, but it's not consistent with how other books are numbered in Goodreads. I have read books where the last numbered page is, for example, 288, but the Goodreads page count is higher. In those cases, the page count included title pages, acknowledgements, praise pages and even reader's guides and preview chapters of an upcoming book. That's why I included the title pages, praise pages and acknowledgements in my count of 206. Why wouldn't they be included with this book?

Because it is not correct. If you see those incorrect page counts, they were either added by import bots taking the publishers' data, or by people who don't know how to add books correctly (didn't look at the manual):
https://www.goodreads.com/help/show/2...
tl;dr: "simply list the number on the last page with countable content."

Thanks for the clarification. That's good to know for the future, but there are a lot of incorrect ones out there now.

Hi Kim. Believe it or not we are aware. In fact there are a lot more issues in the database than just page counts. But also there are millions of records of book editions and there is no way to know which record has what issues unless we spot it by accident or it gets reported to us. So "If you see something - report it". Someone will amend it.

Also, have in mind that librarians are volunteer users. We do not work for Goodreads - we volunteer our own time to help other users and help maintain the database. And even if worked full time the database would still have plenty of issues.

So if you like these records fixed (which all of us - the Librarians - would like to see fixed as well) please give the ISBN numbers to those records and the accurate page count. But please start a new topic as this one is tide up to a specific book record.

Mucho gracias :)
