TBDATE has come out a few days ago, so I've decided to create the Discussions Boards for it! Each board will be about one of the four parts in the book. Spoilers are allowed, so if you have not read up to a certain part, I do not recommend reading the discussion board for it. That being said, everyone is welcome to share their thoughts about each of the parts in the book! We can't wait to hear them!!

Oh my gosh yes! If Rufus says "mad" one more freaking time I'm literally going to claw my eyes out! It's actually really hindering my enjoyment of his Chapters quite a lot!
I prefer Mateo's Chapters so much more, he's a much easy POV to read from. And same as you Maria, I feel like I connect to him a lot more!

That's so cool that you're half Cuban Maria! I don't feel like I'm connecting with either of them to be honest. I like them both and am interested to see how Mateo grows and learns to live and to see Rufus feel more. I feel like he is one of those characters who feels a lot of emotions but doesn't show it to keep up his 'bad man' persona. But reading from his POV I'm excited that we will get to see him feeling! I'm so worried I'm going to cry on the train whilst reading this though!

Yes yes yes!! I agree with all of this! At my previous school, people used slang like "mad" all the time, so I'm used to it, but it still annoyed me to an extent. I too prefer Mateo's chapters because I find myself identifying with him in terms of regretting the past and things of that nature. I'm not too impressed with the writing style as of yet, but I still love the humor, like you said Maria!!

Although Rufus' dialogue is annoying I also think it is realistic. Language a teenager would use but maybe a 14/15 year old, not 17. But I do like that his thoughts as well as his speech are using the same consistent dialogue.

Yes, it's extremely realistic and I also really loved that Adam Silvera stayed consistent with his characters' personalities !

Maria, yes! Ratting him out to police when he only has a day to live?! That's just mean Isn't death punishment enough. The weirdos on the app were just so weird like I was getting shivers from how gross they were! I liked the line "Francis is too white to rock a fade, though." Haha I think that was great dialect and a realistic thing a teenager would say.
