history: how we achieved equality

For women their wish was to have a small portion of land so they could harvest and feed their children so I don't think equality was even a thing for the civilizations, (at least in the last few centuries).
Later on since there was progress in technology and the industrialization era started patriarchy in my opinion bloomed. At that time though women were also able to access to education in one way or another and the first wave of feminism gradually started.
Since women started to have access to education (maybe in different periodic times for each country) they started to fight for their rights and equality.
So, in my opinion the greatest tool and motivation for women is education. And of course in nowadays since we have the internet which can give us any information we want more and more women start to learn about the different waves and forms of feminism and equality, hence in their own way they started fighting for their rights.

but the people who make whistleblowings are like martyrs who have to spend the rest of their lives hiding
but it is not sure who is the manipulators as wikileaks has revealed secrets that has most importantly ended in the arab spring that is convenient for the NATO org. The anonymous group is not safe at all from an infiltration by the CIA or the MI6
Assange has revealed nothing else than a secret that reveals what all gov do: spying on the people

I agree with both of you, Emma and Ines. Uh, if only someone would translate the Bible again, but with explanations of all the meanings. Or maybe not eradicate certain people out of it...
In my opinion, we will achieve equality because with the internet, marginalized groups can finally organise themselves in ways needed for their advocacy work. As an intersectional feminist, my belief is that we will achieve equality by acknowledging each other and each other's uniqueness - in their demands and needs.
But yeah, I think the internet is what lit the fire for equality, and I know that it will burn, as long as there is one of us who is loyal to the feminist principle.
And who knows, maybe this place will play a crucial role in our fight for equality?

The Equality Act 2010 legally protects people from discrimination in the workplace and in wider society.
It replaced previous anti-discrimination laws with a single Act, making the law easier to understand and strengthening protection in some situations. It sets out the different ways in which it’s unlawful to treat someone.
Find out more about who is protected from discrimination, the types of discrimination under the law and what action you can take if you feel you’ve been unfairly discriminated against.
Before the Act came into force there were several pieces of legislation to cover discrimination, including:
Sex Discrimination Act 1975
Race Relations Act 1976
Disability Discrimination Act 1995
If you wish to complain about possible unlawful treatment there are 2 separate processes, depending on when it happened
If you were subject to unlawful treatment on or after 1 October 2010, the Equality Act applies.
For example, if you experienced sex discrimination on 30 September 2010, which continued until 2 October 2010, the Equality Act will apply, not the Sex Discrimination Act.

When we have equlity and historians look bank what do you think they will see as the main fatcors in delaying the achivemnt of equlity.
My speculation is that it will be secrets that may sound odd and it is a conceit a grant you but still think about the world now information sharing thoughts all over the world in an instant the dream of Philosophers for centuries realized by then is social progress so slow. because information is restricted.
The movie the circle dealt with that it, in the end, the world opted to have fewer secrets governments and powerful individuals were open for better or worse to the world. In recent years wikileaks and other revealed secrets thought at the time to end civilization, in fact, it meant governments have to be more open and the world remains.
That's my postulate what is yours
